Kairi and Mattia walked home from their odd day at school.
Kairi felt extremely uncomfortable.
He wanted to almost avoid Mattia but obviously- that as impossible.
So he just tuned Mattia out and stayed lost in his thoughts the whole way home.
And of course- Mattia notice this.
Mattia suddenly called out for Kairi.
Yet the smaller boy ignored him.
He couldn't even hear him.
His thoughts consumed him.
This actually happened a lot more then you think.
Which is why Kairi could never keep a friendship.
Because he didn't listen to when he should.
He liked to block out people.
It was easier.
Mattia stops in his tracks.
Kairi kept going but stopped when he saw Mattia wasn't following.
Mattia- "Are you ignoring me?" He questioned.
Kairi just replied with a simple "yeah."
He kind of felt numb.
This was normal though.
Sometimes he just felt numb.
Or that something inside of him was gone.
Either way.
He didn't want to see people.
Mattia- "Why bubba?" Mattia questions this with confusion.
Did he do something wrong?
He didn't know.
Kairi- "I don't know. Sometimes I just ignore the world, I guess." He said this blankly.
Mattia pulls Kairi by the waist and make them as close as possible.
Kairi let out a small gasp.
Mattia- "That's going to have to change bambino." He spoke almost sternly.
Kairi- "O-okay.." He stuttered this out.
Mattia- "Let's go now." He said this quickly.
He grabbed Kairi's hand and made them continue to walk together .
Kairi didn't complain.
Mattia's hand felt nice with his.
He liked the way Mattia would rub small circles in it with his thumb.
He liked the way it was warm and comforting.
He liked how Mattia would squeeze it every so often to remind Kairi it's okay.
Odd.
Physical affection felt weird to Kairi.
As you have seen in the past chapters, he hasn't experienced it in a years.
It overall felt new to him.
Even in the bathroom earlier- it felt strange receiving that pleasure and touch to Kairi.
But to anyone else it would be normal.
Right?
Kairi let's himself go from his thoughts, seeing they arrived "home".
The boys enter the house.
The tall boy lets their hands go.
Kairi was about to go to his room until-
Mattia then spoke up.
Mattia- "Hey."
Kairi- "Hi." He said with no emotion behind it.
Mattia- "Do you wanna go somewhere?" He questioned this yet, wasn't going to take no for an answer.
With that Kairi turned around to face Mattia.
Kairi- "Where." Again he said this blankly but with a little bit of excitement this time.
Mattia- "Rollerskating."
Kairi- "I've never been skating." He admits.
Mattia- "Well today you can try it." He said this with a smile.
Kairi- "Okay-.. thank you bud." He said this softly with a smile on his face.
Mattia- "No problem bubba." He smiles ear to ear while saying this.
Kairi couldn't help but feel warm inside.
Mattia's smile made him feel warm.
Mattia made him feel warm.
That's good- right?
Mattia- "It'll just be me and you KaiKai."
Kairi- "Okay.."
Mattia- "Go put your stuff away. I'll go start the car."
And with that Kairi nods.
