"Yayyyy!", cried James.
And I woke up, to find my brother jumping on the bed. I turned to check the time, it was 6 in the morning.
"Ana! Wake up!", He kept shouting, "Wake up we have school tomorrow! Real school!"
Though I was really excited, I tried to show that I wasn't. "It is tomorrow and not today don't irritate me now."
"But I wanted to ask how is it to go to a real school?"
This Question brought back memories, from when I was in 1st grade.I couldn't remember much of it but, cherished having to have many friends teachers and real books, made of paper. Being able to shake hands and hi-five my teacher unlike now when it is just visual reality classrooms...
"What are you thinking?", James interrupted.
"Oh nothing, just the fact that you have already asked me that question like a million time."
"No I didn't!"
"You sure did."
James had just opened his mouth to argue when mom came in and asked us both to get down, she said that she had something to show us.
James and I sprinted down the stairs to see who would win in getting there first.
Mom showed us the new courses on our tablets, at first I was a bit upset that we weren't having real books, but I am mature enough to concede that it wasn't possible, the government had outlawed making of paper books and besides they were rare back when I was in Elementary school. Mom even got new covers and flashers for our tablets. Flashers are basically touch sensitive projectors. Me and my brother were on cloud nine. Just then Daddy informed that we will be getting our new uniforms. I had no idea that we had uniforms, I was really amused.
We had breakfast and then tried on our new uniforms. They were fine, I won't complain as I get to actually go to school and meet new people tomorrow. Me and James checked out our courses for this year. I can say that I won't have much to study this year, not that the course was small but was really easy, at least for me.
I am a Sophomore(10th grader) this year and as for James, he just started elementary. Both of us were going to Coral High, it had different building for the kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school. James was excited and scared at the same time as we won't be together.
"Hey Ana, why didn't we go to a real school all this time?"
I didn't have an answer to that. I never got to know the actual reason behind that, I mean even though we had the technology to attend school from home, we didn't, and then schools all of a sudden closed. I had heard a rumor that some students went missing or something, but that's what they say about something that happened in 2020...
"They just thought that virtual classrooms were much better, hon.", replied dad cutting through my thoughts.
The rest of the day went rather silent.
Now I am in bed pondering why the schools had closed then..
