Hello :) I'm really sorry it took so long, but I hope you like Chapter 3 ^^
———————————————————————————————————————————————————In the Impala:
Dean started the engine of his beloved Impala and drove off. It was pretty quiet on the way to the morgue. There was a slight tension in the car that both of them could felt. Dean cleared his throat to break the terrible silence.
"So.. ehrm..."
He wasn't sure what to say, so he asked one of the simplest questions.
"How are you ?"
Sam frowned and glanced over at him.
"What?" He asked his older brother because he wasn't sure if he understood him correctly.
"I asked how you were. I was worried about you. We haven't talked to each other in months ... after the argument-"
Dean was interrupted by Sam before he could even finish the sentence.
"I'm fine, Dean. Everything is fine."
He particularly emphasized the word. In a flash, Dean drove to the side of the road and looked deep into his brother's eyes.
"Why are you stopping?"
Sam asked surprised, but didn't break eye contact.
"Don't lie to me, Sammy. Don't tell me everything is fine because it isn't. Don't you understand?.. It's not your fault..none of it... and we both know it isn't. They got worse, didn't they ?"
Dean's voice became louder with each word until his voice slowly softened. Silence. Sam didn't said a word, and neither did Dean. Sam broke the eye contact and looked out of the window.
"You're right, nothing is fine. But you don't understand. If I ...", it was Dean this time who interrupted his younger brother.
"Stop it. How many more times? You couldn't have done anything, do you understand? This crap isn't your fault ... that's bullshit. Stop blaming yourself for everything."
Nothing. Nothing but silence. Dean drove back onto the street and made his way to the mortuary.
Cas POV:
Castiel was standing in front of a large building when his phone vibrated. He looked down at the small screen and read Dean's message.
// Hey Cas, Sam and I are on our way to the mortuary to look at two corpses. I'll call you as soon as we're back at the hotel //
He put his phone back into the pocket of his trench coat and walked towards the big building. The Winchesters would probably ask him a lot of questions if they knew where their friend was at the moment.
Castiel walked down a long, dark hallway until he stood in front of a large black door that was similar to one of those old rusty gates you see in horror movies. The door opened slowly and he entered. Cas looked at the figure in front of him.
"Oh Castiel ... welcome to hell."
The angel was greeted by the king of hell himself. "How can I help you ?" He asked with a sarcastic undertone.
"We need information, Crowley." Answered Cas carefully. "We? So your boyfriend and the moose wanted you to come here?"
"Sam and Dean don't know about this. And I don't want them to find out.. but that's not the point, Crowley." He said clearly annoyed.
"So, information ... I assume you want to find out about the miserable cattle that's trying to let the devil out of the box." The demon asked and raised a brow.
The angel looks at him with a serious expression on his face and nodded. He took a step closer to Crowley and looked into his eyes.
"I'll help you on one condition. Moose and squirrel have to make sure Lucifer doesn't make it out of the cage" That made the angel curious and tilt his head a little. The demon noticed and started to explain. He wanted to prevent that the devil comes back because he would have to give up his throne up and didn't wanted any..complications. Crowley wanted to remain the king of hell, and the "help" of the Winchesters and their winged friend would definitely come in handy.
Of course, he didn't told Castiel that he was afraid of the archangel. The angel nodded understandingly. "So... do we have a deal?" Crowley asked with a big grin on his face.
