"Babe, babe! Its okay! He's got everything! I checked last night!" Said John calmly to Sherlock. It was Hamish's first day at nursery and Sherlock was getting worried.
"Pencil case?" Sherlock called.
"Yes!" John replied.
"Lunch bag?"
"Yes!"
"Scarf?"
"Judging on how much Hamish has inherited from you, he's clever enough, even at this age, to pack his own schoolbag!" John laughed.
"SCARF JOHN?" Sherlock almost screamed.
"Oh yes, sorry! It's errm, right here!". Sherlock rushed over to John, grabbed the scarf and shoved it into Hamish's new rucksack. As Sherlock went to turn to the door to leave, John grabbed Sherlocks shoulder and turned him round. He kissed Sherlock on the forehead.
"Sherlock, look at me. Please, for yours, mine and Hamish's sake, stop worrying. Its doing none of us any good. You're just panicking Hamish." Sherlock was about to reply when John kissed him again, this time, on the lips. Sherlock kissed him back.
Hamish walked into the room. "Ermm, daddy, we're going to be late for my first day."
Sherlock pulled away, realising his child was standing before them, watching them make out.
"Oh, right, yes! Nursery! Okay, Hamish, go put your shoes on while I say goodbye to daddy and I'll be right there." Said Sherlock softly.
"Make sure he gets in okay, and hes got everything when you drop him off. Also, check what time we pick him up. I've forgotten. " John kissed Sherlock again, "have a good day."
They both walked out to the hall where Hamish was standing with his coat and shoes on, waiting. He looked at the clock on the wall, "we're going to be late if we don't leave now!" Hamish pulled on Sherlock's sleeve and startered walking defiantly to the door.
"Oi! What about my kiss?" Called out John towards his son.
Hamish immediately turned round, ran over to john and planted a kiss on his cheek.
"Bye daddy." Called Hamish as he galloped along down the stairs and out onto the pavements of Baker Street.
"Bye!" John said as Sherlock shut the door behind Hamish.
"Are we nearly there yet?" Sighed Hamish. He was bored already, and they'd only been in the taxi for 5 minutes.
Sherlock sighed. "Wow. You really have taken after me haven't you?"
"Daddy, I asked you a question." Said Hamish, scowling.
"Yes, nearly."
"Daddy, what will nursery be like?" Hamish questioned. Sherlock gazed down at his son. Hamish looked so similar to himself. He had curly dark hair, he was tall for his age, and had a mixture of blue, gold and green in his eyes. Although he didn't have the peircing, sharp cheekbones like Sherlock. He had a wider, shorter face, more like John. John was gorgeous, Sherlock thought, just like Hamish. They were the perfect little family, and Sherlock wouldn't change anything for the world.
"DADDY?" Hamish whined. Sherlock suddenly clicked out of his daze. This was the second time he'd not answered Hamish's question in just one journey. He needed to pay more attention.
"Oh yes, sorry. It'll be fine, just beware of some of the other children there. They can be awfully annoying" Sherlock rolled his eyes.
"Hello!" Said a bright and cheery voice. It was the teacher at the nursery. Sherlock couldn't help but deduce.
