Muhammad had just retired to his room, because his abdomen has begun paining him. He hardly made it to the room, clutching his abdomen and praying. He collapsed on the bed breathing heavily, some kind of painful sound escaping his mouth.

The pain is getting worse by each passing day, it was as if his abdomen was twisted then released then twisted again. He managed to pull his bedside drawer open, and grabbed some painkillers. "Oh Allah, no water." He groaned and just swallowed the medicine without the water.

He started reciting whatever supplication came to mind. As the pain intensified, he closed his eyes and let tears fall.

At this point , he just sat there waiting for Allah to take his life. He doesn't wish this kind of pain on anyone, not even his enemy. And based on his experience as a doctor, he doesn't even know the right drug to take. It was as if the pain cannot be cured with medicine but is there a kind of illness that cannot be cured with medicine? He tried whatever painkiller he could think of, but nothing worked.

"Subhanallah!!!" Abdallah shouted from the doorway. He was shock to stillness by the sight of Muhammad crying and in pain like that. He ran to his side the moment he recovered from his reverie, and pulled him up. "Ya Muhammad, what is wrong with you?" He asked shaking him.

Muhammad's consciousness was slowly slipping away. "Ya Muhammad stay with me!!" He shouted tapping his cheeks.

"What is wrong?" Mahmoud asked walking into the room. He exclaimed and also ran to muhammad's side. "Go get some water." Abdallah said, and Mahmoud made a turn for the kitchen. He got a glass of water, and gave it to him.

Abdallah managed to get Muhammad to open his mouth, and gave him the water. "Ya Muhammad!! Ya muhammad."

Muhammad opened his eyes and looked at him, "What is wrong with you?" Mahmoud asks grabbing his hand. "My...stomach..stooo." He stopped and closed his eyes breathing heavily. "Your stomach hurts?" He nodded and let out a raspy breath. "Wait.." abdallah said and got up, "we need to go to the hospital." He ran out of the room, hastily wore his shoes, and ran to the main house.

He found Aisha in the kitchen "where is mummy?"
"In her room, why?"
"Ya Muhammad is seriously ill," he said, running upstairs to mummy's room. He found her seated watching something.

"Mummy we are going to take ya Muhammad to a hospital." He said hurriedly. He just came to let her know so she wouldn't worry about where they went.

Her head perked up "What happened? What is wrong with him?"
"He is going through severe stomach pain."
"Subhanallah!!" She exclaimed and quickly got up. "For once I thought he got better, because he didn't say anything." She muttered as she rummaged through her drawer, and pulled out a hijab.

"What are you talking about?" Abdallah asked confused about what she had just said. Mummy shook her head and grabbed her car keys saying, "no, nothing. Just quickly go and put him in my car." She hand him the key and slipped in her slippers.

"Mummy are you also coming?"
"Yes, of course, now go."

He nod his head and quickly ran downstairs to their quarters. Mahmoud helped him take Muhammad to the car. Mummy came out shortly and got in the backseat. "Let's go." She said as she shuts the door. She turned and looked at muhammad, whose eyes were closed and was still clutching his stomach. She moved closer to him, and held his hand in hers saying, "are you feeling any better? Did you take anything? A painkiller or something?"

He nod his head and opened his eyes only to close them again when his stomach twisted. He groaned and blinked back tears. "Hurry abdallah." Abdallah stepped on the accelerator and took a short cut along an alley.

Mummy held muhammad's hand through out the drive and only let go, when they parked in the parking space of the hospital. Abdallah shut off the engine and quickly got out, helped Muhammad out of the car and head straight inside hospital.

On the way, mummy had spoken to a doctor they know, and had booked an appointment, so now muhammad just has to undergo some tests, before meeting the doctor.

They got in and spoke to the receptionist, who quickly asked a nurse to guide muhammad to a room for the tests after checking their appointment status. Mummy and abdallah sat in the lobby and waited for him to finish. She called daddy and told him about muhammad's condition. He said he was coming back home the next day, and promised to be home as soon as possible.

A few minutes later, a nurse came out holding a some papers. She came directly to them saying, "Good afternoon ma." "Afternoon." She said and smiled a little. "Here is the test results, and the doctor has injected mr muhammad with a sedative and also put an IV in him because he is weak and needs rest and energy."

Mummy nodded with eyebrows lifted to indicate attentiveness. She collected the results and looked at it with a heavy heart. "Can we see him?" She asked in a low voice. "Yes, of course." Mummy looked at Abdallah who was also looking at her and said, "abdallah go and make the payments then meet me in the room." She passed him her some cash and got up. He also stood and muttered an Okay before walking away.

She followed the nurse to the room he was admitted and found him on the bed sleeping. The nurse excused herself and walked out, closing the door after her. The room was warm as the weather was a bit chilly, so they turned the heater on for him. Mummy walked to his side and tucked his hand that had the IV in it under his blanket. "Get well soon son." She then pecked his forehead and sat on the couch in the room.

A few minutes later, abdallah came in holding a small paper bag and two bottles of water. He looked at Muhammad who was still sleeping, then at mummy who was reading something on her phone.

She answered his Salam and asked him if he had paid for everything, and he said yes. "Here mummy, have this." He passed her the bag and water, "I figured you might be hungry."
"Thank you, may Allah bless you." She prayed, put the bag aside, and opened the water and drank a little. "He is still sleeping huh?" He asked as he took a seat.
"Yeah."

Muhammad stirred and opened his eyes. His stomach pain has reduced, and he was now able to move comfortably. He turned and saw abdallah sleeping on the pouch, and mummy beside him on a chair. She had rested her head on the bed, and had his hand in her grasp. "Muhammad, are you awake?" She asked in a sleepy voice. He thought she was asleep and had actually moved quietly when he saw her, but it appears not. "Yes."

She sat up and looked at him for a while then said, "water?" He pushed himself to sit up with her help, and took the bottle she had passed to him, and gulped down almost half of it. "How are you feeling?"
"Better." He smiled tightly and moved to sit comfortably on the bed. She quickly placed a pillow behind him on his back to support him, and sat back down.

"Muhammad why didn't you go to the hospital since when your condition is this serious, you could have died." She asked when he was comfortably seated. He closed his eyes, pinched his forehead and wondered for a moment what he should say to mummy in response. "I'm sorry mummy, i just thought.."
"You just thought you didn't have to see a doctor, because you thought you could handle it, and didn't take it seriously." She finished for him. He set his head down and couldn't say anything, because that is exactly what it was.

"I'm sorry." He said, and she just stared at him. She huffed moments later, and grabbed the paper bag that abdallah had brought, and kept it on the bed. She pulled out a food takeaway, opened it and stuck a spoon in the food saying, "here, eat. You haven't had anything since yesterday."
"Yesterday?"

"Yes, it's like 4am now." He nodded and picked the takeaway without any argument and silently ate his food. "Have you eaten?" He asked and she nodded. She looked at his IV bag which was almost finished, and said, "doctor aslam said he would come the moment you wake up, but I guess it would have to be in the morning." She was so eager to find out what's wrong with her child. "But insha Allah everything would -no everything is fine." She added softly looking at him.

"Insha Allah."
