#02: Incident at the Marine Ford

"A new vice admiral will be announced later, aren't you excited?", Helmepo elbowed Coby who's proudly wearing his captain cape. "I don't know where I would be excited of- the fact that we are going to be transferred in the new world or this new vice admiral", Cobi crossed his arm and leaned on the wall.

Akainu took the platform and used a transporter snail to also reach the entirety of the World Government.

"I have three announcement to make. First, I am already the new fleet admiral. As my first task, I moved the Marine ford in a new location. Second, all of the supernovas already reached the new world. For us to catch up with those bastards, there will be new position that'll be announced. That gives us the third announcement, Fujitora Ishho will take the position of an Admiral. Kairi Foss will be a vice admiral under him", Akainu informed.

"Let us keep to crushing these arrogant brats", Akainu said with conviction.

The room was filled with cheers.

Standing in the platform together, Fujitora wondered what kind of person is Kairi. "They told me that you are the youngest vice admiral. How old are you? Vice Admiral Foss", Fujitora asked. "I turned 20 today", Kairi answered. "Is that so? Let me greet you a happy birthday then", Fujitora greeted with a smile. Kairi didn't respond. Did she not hear it due to the noisy marines?

Kairi's Room

She took off the cape and thew it on the bed. The blacked haired lady opened the window and the breeze greeted her. She looked ahead and saw the sun already setting. She leaned on the window stool and covered her face with both of her hands. The door flung open.

"Happy Birthday~ Happy Birthday to you~ Happy Birthday dear Kairi~".

Kairi let the two old geezers to finish singing before the Kairi turned to show her uninterested face. "I already boiled water for our tea", Sengoku showed the tea set. "I also got flavored rice cakes", Garp raised a huge bag of his favorites. Kairi pulled a tatami mat kept in her cabinet and also set up a center table. They all sat on the floor.

"Just say that you're two old geezers escaping marine responsibilities", Kairi sighed. "Here you go", Sengoku poured on her cup. Garp looked at the cup designed with flowers. "You're rich enough to buy a new set of cups. Why do you have to bring these seven old cups?", Kairi sipped into the tea. "Can I also have one?", Garp took on cup and raised it. "Hey, that's-", Sengoku looked at the brown chocolate cup with a happy face. "It's fine", Kairi said her eyes closed savoring the tea.

Sengoku and Garp talked about the victories they had in the past. Kairi would just listen even if she already heard it a lot of times. Someone knocked on the door. Garp opened it and saw Fujitora. "You're having a lot of visitors", Garp commented. "I'm leaving tonight with Admiral Fujitora", Kairi stood up and went to the table near the bed. She took an eternal pose and also put down the picture frame.

Port

"The former Fleet Admiral and Vice Admiral Garp seems fond of you", Fujitora can hear the two cheering in the background. "They were present while I was growing up", Kairi answered. "We'll be escorting you as well", Coby and Helmepo gave a salute.

From the distance, Sengoku dropped his hand as soon as Kairi gave a glare. "Have a safe trip! See you soon", Sengoku shouted. "What a tear-jerking statement", Garp commented while having a resting smile in his face.

Three days after,

Marine Ship-Dock

"Here's some news about Luffy", Helmepo handed a newspaper to Coby. "I knew he was alive", the pink haired captain grabbed the newspaper and felt like crying looking at Luffy's smiling face.

"Do you think we can see him as we journey at the new world as well?", Coby looked at the vast sky. "Of course. But then, the next time we see each other, I think we'll be enemies", Helmepo had a short laugh before chocking as he saw Kairi looking at their direction.

"Is that Morgan's news?", Kairi asked.

"Yes, Vice-Admiral", Helmepo offered it with both of his hands with his head bowed down. It looks like he's offering something to a queen. Kairi took it and started reading.

"An alliance between pirates. How absurd", Kairi looked at Helmepo and Coby waiting for agreement. The two nodded violently. "You'll drop your head, be careful", she walked towards the observation room.

Observation Room

Kairi looked around and saw Fujitora eating noodles. "Want some?", Fujitora offered. "I already ate breakfast. Also, I don't think noddles is for breakfast", Kairi sat on a couch like seat on the side of the room.

"Kairi, did you have a good night sleep?", Fujitora asked.

"I did, Admiral. By the way, I wasn't yet oriented with our mission in Dressrosa", Kairi opened. "Dressrosa, you say. Let me see. It is a country that is ruled by one of the Seven Warlords, Donqixuote Doflamingo", Fujitora informed. "I saw him before. He's a huge man with pink feathered coat", Kairi recognized the name. "Yes, he just resigned from the seven warlords. We are going to confirm it. There's also a hint that Caesar Clown is at Dressrosa", Fujitora. "Pardon me for my ignorance. This Caesar Clown is a criminal?", Kairi asked. "Caesar Clown was once a worker under Dr. Vegapunk. He's on the run after the he was found out to be researching about the gigantification of children. Vice Admiral Smoker said that he had set his camp in Punk Hazard. He's taken as a hostage by the Straw Hat and Heart pirates alliance", Fujitora explained.

"Gigantification? A giant will never be one unless he is a descent of Ebalf", Kairi commented. "Yes indeed. That's why the children he used as experiments were rescued. He managed to make them bigger but the experiment failed", Fujitora ended. There was a deafening silence between the two. "I'll go check the crew", Fujitora went out.

Blood stained, Kairi was welcomed by huge fires, explosions, and her home in rubble. She could see it from a distance.

The battle at the Marine Ford is not yet done. With all the Admirals present, how could the proud headquarters be in such a shape?

"Captain, there's a small boat outside. There's a woman and she's with two more people. What should we do?", a voice coming from a nearby ship startled the raven head lady. She knew it was a pirate's ship due to the smiling jolly Roger-like signage. She held unto her spear.

A man in yellow sweatshirt peeked from the dock." Tch, take them in. We need to rush in and take that Straw Hat", the annoyed husky voice ordered.

"Vice Admiral, we arrived at Sabaody Island. You will need to transfer to another ship", Kairi heard Coby's voice from the other side of the door.

She opened the door and saw Coby's surprised face. "Vice-Admiral, your nose is bleeding", Coby informed and grabbed on his handkerchief right away. He handed it to Kairi. "Thank you", Kairi gently reached out to it and covered her nose. "Are you alright, Vice-Admiral? I can call the ship's doctor right away", Coby said worriedly.

"I'm fine, it's just due to the heat", she assured and went down.

She looked at the bubble coated Island. She thought that it was a soothing view. "Is it beautiful?", Fujitora asked. Kairi looked at the huge trees.

"It's a wonderful view, Admiral".
