Somewhere in the Open Sea
A day after
"Gale, why is Alon still unconscious?", Kairi asked.
"Sorry Kairi. I cannot use my ability. We're entering a snowy territory", Gale cried while scratching his arms.
Kairi losing all her hope sat on the boat and burrowed her face on her hands. Alon coughed. "Gale, Kairi, where are the rest?", Alon asked. Kairi and Gale held unto his hand. "UHm. We're here", Gale talked seeing how Kairi's mouth is twitching. It was like the first time she tried to talk.
"We'll be going back to Marine Ford in a while. Are you feeling pain?", Gale asked. "That's weird. It's the opposite. I feel numb all over my body", Alon answered. Gale bit his lip. "Also, did you turn off all the lights?", Alon asked. Gale silently cried. "Uhm. That would be for a surprise birthday greeting", Gale nodded. Kairi leaned on Alon's chest. "Kairi?", Alon noticed. Kairi hugged him tightly. "Did you miss me that much?", Alon asked.
"Uhm", Kairi nodded while stopping herself from crying out loud.
"Kairi, you know what. I went back at the Elephant Island. I think I messed up. But, if you guys are all here. It means you went for my sake. I'm embarrassed. Maybe I was feeling so tired that I feel like sleeping longer", Alon informed. "Ah, you've been doing the night patrolling more than any of us. This time, you can sleep longer", Kairi pounded her head on Alon's chest. "Alon, can I have one favor?", Kairi wiped her tears. "Gale and I are headed in a different direction, soon, you will meet the others. Can you pass them a message?", Kairi asked. "Of course", Alon smiled.
"Tell them... that I am thankful...that they came with me", Kairi's voice cracked.
"Tell them that if I would be born again, I would risk everything to be with them again", Kairi added.
"Tell them.... I love them", Kairi sobbed.
"Kairi, how sweet of you. I understand. Your message will be delivered without missing any word", Alon assured.
"Alon", Gale noticed that he doesn't have any pulse anymore.
Two days after
Kairi woke up seeing Gale's skin getting paler.
"Gale, are you alright?", Kairi cupped his face.
"Sorry. Kairi. I had been planning on telling you guys about my illness", Gale coughed blood. "Gale, don't...", Kairi removed her coat and wrapped it around Gale. They've been floating on the boat for as much as they remember. They don't have the strength to row anymore. Without a compass, they have no idea where to go.
"Gale, please. Please don't leave me alone", Kairi cried as she hugged the green head guy.
10 days in the snowy ocean
Due to the cold weather, Alon's dead body was still in tact. Kairi woke up with an unusual sound. She was startled to see Gale biting off Alon's arms. Kairi pushed him away. "I'm hungry", Gale said in a soft voice. Kairi trembled as she covered the loosed flesh with her torn clothes.
"Gale, please don't. If this is the only thing that will keep us sane, let's not do this", Kairi shook her head. Also, weakened, she could barely talk.
Gale coughed a lot of blood and vomited as well. He must have realized what he was about to do a while ago. "Gale, hold on. Just few more days. We'll be rescued", Kairi patted his back. Gale lost consciousness. Kairi kept punching his back. "Gale, come back to your senses. Don't give up. The rescue will come", Kairi found herself saying the same words.
