Third person's point of view,
Hannibal sat on the back porch as Jacob, Emmett and several of the new vampires and some of the wolves fooled around, despite everything they were goofing around, and it was fun to watch; Edward stood off to the side with his hands in his pockets, his eyes unfocused and it was obvious that he deep in thought.
Hannibal watched him out the corner of her eye; she worried about him and all the situation's stress, wanting to ease his mind a bit. She closed her eyes and focused on the memories of her travelling around in her different animal forms; Buchanan liked it when she showed him views of the sky in her eagle form.
So she picked a memory of flying over her homelands, the ones from Arthurian legends, even though they're not legends to her as she lived them. His ability to read minds picked up on this, and when he looked at her, she could feel him watching. It amazed him, he felt the wind beneath Hannibal's wings, and he could taste the free air,
The views of the legendary lake and Camelot brought him feelings of nostalgia. Giving truth to Hannibal's claims of reincarnation, Renesme, sensing this interaction, wiggled into Hannibal's lap, her hands on the dark-haired woman's cheeks, her silent question asked, receiving a small laugh. "Very well, you may," Hannibal said and pressed her forehead against the little girl's.
Showing them another memory, this one in a different form, Renesme giggled as she watched Hannibal leap and race through trees and bushes in her fox form, this one moving quick with amazing reflexes and flexibility. Carlisle coming over to sess what was up, looked at his son, "what is she showing you?" he asked with a smile.
"Something I'd never thought I'd experience," he said, "She's amazing, Carlisle," Carlisle smiled. "She really is something else, huh," Carlisle said, patting his son on the shoulder, 'Renesme keeps asking if Hannibal will stay after everything,' Carlisle thought, and Edward nodded. "She asked a few weeks ago, but I don't know what to do," Edward said,
Carlisle sighed slightly, "You're a smart man, Edward. You'll figure it out." he said, then walked over to Hannibal and Renesme to make the little girl lunch with his wife. Hannibal moving into the trees, caught Edward's attention. Following her, he knew that she knew he was following her. He wasn't exactly hiding it either.
When she stopped, it was near a small lake, not as beautiful as the ones he saw in her thoughts, but it was peaceful and calm. Finding her seated near the water's edge, he moved towards her and sat next to her. "I hear that Renesme keeps asking a difficult question," Hannibal said after a quiet moment.
"Yes, I don't know what to tell her, as I myself don't know the answer," he said. "Will it help if I back up a bit, maybe give you and her some space?" she asked, and he shook his head, "No, she'd be sad if you did that," he said, looking out at the water, "Tell me more about yourself," he asked,
"There is a lot to tell," she said, "It would take quite a while to explain it all," he looked a bit disappointed, "But how about I show you instead," she said and he looked a bit surprised, as well a confused, chuckling she stood and knelt in front of him and took hold of his hands and held them to the sides of her head,
"Now relax and don't fight the feeling," she explained and before he could ask why images flooded his mind, from the moment Hannibal was born to the day she left her mother to the day she met her husband to the day she married and to the day her child was born, to how her husband and child died to how she too died and to how her mother saved her.
Everything, she showed him absolutely everything, even all of her vampire memories. When she was done, it faded out on the moment that she showed him all her memories. "You were right; that is a lot of stuff," he said as he held her hands as he was a bit dizzy. Chuckling, she nodded, "Yup, that is my life, and it has been very, very long," she said.
"With no one to share it with, has made it much longer," she said as she leaned back onto her heels to stare at the ground. "I don't know how to love anyone else," he said, and she looked at him, "For the first time since I'd become a vampire to the day I met Bella, I'd thought I wasn't deserving of love, and then I had her, she changed that," he added.
"But then that changed again, she decided that she would survive the birth of our child, even when I told her, she couldn't, that her body wasn't strong enough, she didn't include me in any decision making which really hurt, but now that I've met and spent time with our child I can see many of Bella's traits, so I still have a piece of her with me," he said letting out his feelings,
Seeing that he wanted to cry, Hannibal snapped her finger and allowed for a soft rain to fall; it gave him the feeling of crying while being unable to. Seeing the lengths Hannibal was going through to help him, he reached out and held her hand, squeezing quite hard; she didn't feel any pain and smiled softly to show she'd always help no matter what.
