"I love you too, Alishba. I love you today, tomorrow and forever."

Alishba shot her eyes open as the alarm woke her up from dream. She laid still as the sound that made her want to pull her hair out every single morning kept on ringing. But she didn't shut it off. She laid with beads of sweat on her forehead and neck, even though the morning chilled breeze kissed her through the open windows. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before getting up and stopping the alarm.

"Why can't I just stop dreaming about that day? Why can't I just stop dreaming about him?"

Him.

Well, this was how her day began, every single day after they parted ways.

Without wasting a second, Alishba got up from her queen sized bed and rushed to her bathroom. After doing her morning routine and slipping into her office clothes of a purple high neck full sleeve blouse and a white pencil skirt, she went to the kitchen to grab her energy drink, coffee. As she sat on the kitchen stool across the counter with a coffee mug in her hands, the caramelized earthly aroma of the freshly brewed coffee filling her lungs up, Alishba took a look around at her large contemporary apartment. How neatly the purple couches were arranged on the marble floor with a masterpiece of Michelangelo hung on the eggshell white walls. The two empty bedrooms that had nothing except her clothes and books. The third room was the largest of all and it was where Alishba cried herself to sleep every single night.

A feeling of pride ran through Alishba as the thought of her owning this big luxurious apartment hit her. But soon that pride was replaced with loneliness and emptiness as the thought of coming to no one to this same apartment filled her mind.

Taking her Lana Marks leather bag in her hands, Alishba went towards the door. She reached her car porch where her baby, Aston Martin Vantage, was waiting for her. The way she adored that car made the women working in her office wish for a guy who would look at them the way Alishba looked at her car. After settling in the driver's seat, Alishba drove off to her office.

Good mornings from here and there and Alishba returning a bright smile to them was an eyeful sight. She smiling and greeting the securities before entering her office building and the janitors when she passed by them made her one of the most down to earth bosses that existed in this twisted world. The aura she spread while taking steps to her office with a Starbucks travel coffee mug in her hand, heels clicking the floor and her assistant by her side made everyone halt whatever they were doing and look at her in awe. The power she held made people either respect her or envy her. Well, she built the kingdom all these years on her own so the crown on the queen's head shone as bright as a diamond. But only the queen knew how much that crown weighed.

"Stephanie, what is my schedule for today?" Alishba asked her assistant as she opened the glass door of her office room.

"Ma'am, you have a personal meeting with Davis Shelby of Shelby Companies at 11:30 a.m. and then a visit to the property that you're planning to buy from Mrs. Harold and that would be around 1:00 p.m. After lunch, you will be having your usual talking session with Dr. Lolita. That's it for today," Stephanie concluded.

"The visit to that property is very important," Alishba said as she sat down on her seat, placing her bag on the office table. "I have to reach there at sharp 1:00 or else Mrs. Harold may have a change of mind. She's a retired principal so she can be pretty serious with punctuality, you know. There's a high chance of her changing her mind if I arrive late and I can't let that happen."

"Yes. I know, ma'am. You have been trying to get that property for almost a year. If I'm not wrong, it's for a hostel, right?" Stephanie asked her boss.
