"Where do you want to move after?" Tony asked while driving to Forks high. Irene looked at him with a frown. They just arrived and he already wanted to leave? To Irene, he seemed to like the city pretty much.
"I thought you were good here?" she asked, fidgeting with the rectangular pendant of her necklace. It was always with her. Tony nodded without looking away from the road.
"I am. But it's just to know. We don't know what could happen so we better prepare beforehand," this time, it was Irene who nodded. He was right. Life was unexpected. Things could happen without you seeing it coming. As an example, she never thought vampires ever existed until the day she became one herself. She never thought it was possible yet here she was. So, to avoid any bad event, Tony and Irene always tried to prepare themselves. They are always on their guards.
"Thaïland, or Australia," Irene said, answering his first question. Tony smirked when he heard the country names.
"Asia and Oceania? You really want to be as far as possible from them, huh?" he asked playfully. Tony liked to joke time to time about their situation. He was so used to this lifestyle. Looking behind was second nature to him and Irene now.
"Well, last time we encountered them, it ended up with lives lost, so yeah,"
After a few more minutes, the twins finally arrived at Forks high. It was their third day of school. It seemed like all the infatuation around the Goodwin's twins had died down. Some students still were glancing at them but that wasn't as much as when they first arrived. Now Irene and Tony were well blending in the crowd. They were normal students (regardless of what they were). And Irene liked that. She didn't like to be the centre of attention. She felt like at any moment, people would discover her secret, what she really was. A monster. People would only look at that and not at who she really was. She always felt different. They were a difference between how people saw her and how she saw her herself. She felt normal, but people thought about her as weird. And becoming a vampire didn't help her case.
Tony parked the car in the school car park and stopped the engine. Both of the twins took their backpack and put it over their shoulder. But as they were about to step out of the car, they stopped. Even though they were in their car, they could smell a scent. A horrible and disgusting scent of wet dog. It meant only one thing, a shifter was here. In Forks high. Since it was the first time they smelled him here, the twins knew that he wasn't attending the school. Irene shared a look with her brother and they finally stepped out of the black car. Irene shut the door and looked around, looking for the shifter. Then, her eyes stopped on one guy. He had black hair. He was quite tall, more than 170 centimetres. He was muscular. Irene knew that he had an inhuman strength. He was wearing a black tight tee and jeans. And he smelled really bad. A scent of wet dog and mud was surrounding him. But what caught her attention - especially Tony's attention - was that the shifter was talking to Bella. They seemed to know each other.
