"Police are baffled by the escalating murders and disappearances," a female reporter said. Carlisle, Jasper, Irene and Tony were watching the leaving, concerned all over their faces. Emmett, too, was attentive to what the reporter had to say. Then, Bella and Edward entered the living room as the reporter continued to talk. "Theories range from a vicious new gang to a wildly active serial killer... Reporting live, Dawn Chubai. CNN,"
"It's getting worse. We're going to have to do something," Carlisle said, switching the tv off. If it continued like that, the existence of vampire could be discovered. The Volturi would never let that happened. They would have to come which worried Irene even more.
"It takes more than one of our kind to cause the damage they're reporting," Jasper said. Then it hit him. This situation was too similar to him. It has to be that. "Quite a few more. They're undisciplined, conspicuous..."
"Newborns," Irene concluded.
"What, like new vampires?" Bellas asked.
"In their first few months after the change," Edward explained to her.
"During this time, the only thing we want, the things we crave the most is blood," Tony said. "The need is so strong that we don't care if we would be discovered as long as our hunger is fed,"
"That's when we're at our most uncontrollable, vicious, insane with thirst," Jasper added.
"Something to look forward to," Emmett added with a smirked looking at Bella.
"No one has trained these newborns, but this isn't random," Jasper continued, analysing the situation.
"Someone's creating an army," Carlisle concluded as Jasper nodded. Emmett stood up from the couch, enthusiastic.
"Oh, now we definitely going to Seattle," the dark-haired vampire joyfully said. He wanted to fight so bad. Contrasting to him, Bella seemed very worried about that. An army of vampire? The consequences could be very, very bad.
"They've been created to fight someone and you're the only clan even close to Seattle. This can't be a coincidence," Tony said.
"Regardless, of who are they were may," Carlisle stepped into the conversation again. "If we don't put a stop to them, the Volturi will. I'm surprised they've let it go on this long,"
"Maybe they're behind it. In Italy, I read Aro's mind..." Edward said, recalling the time he, along with Bella and Alice, were in Volterra a few months ago. "He wants me and Alice to join him... Our gifts would shore up his power. He knows we'd never choose him as long as our family is still alive,"
Irene felt a cold chill running down her spine as she started fidgeting with the pendent of her necklace. This was completely what Aro would do. Irene knew it too well. When he wants something, he would do anything to get it. She wouldn't be surprised to know that he would be behind that. Aro was addicted to power, blinded by that. He wanted more and more and always more. It assured his authority on the entire vampire world. He wants his name to be feared so he would have control everywhere.
