Aubrie was the first to awaken, silently watching over Krystal from the other side of the small room. Ever since Krystal had arrived, Aubrie couldn't take her eyes off of her, Aubrie had only one memory with another human being.
Aubrie was just a girl, twelve years old. The fire crackiling in front of her, the smell of rich, creamy hot chocolate filled the air, her blond curls tied into a bun and beside her was her mother. "Mama," Aubrie looked at her mother with her big, blue curious eyes, "Tell me a story..." Her mother smiled, her warm smile and brushed her hand through Aubrie's hair, "Of course my angel," Aubrie's mother went on with the story, as she had many times before. They sat all throughout the night.
Aubrie shivered at the memory, missing her home like always, she constantly wondered if her mother was looking for her out in the real world, holding tightly onto a photo of the two of them, filled with grief. She let go of the idea, looking sad infront of Krystal, even though she was asleep didn't seem like a good idea.
She turned her head to the still sleeping girl, and decided to head over to her 'Memory Scrap's' It was a small cloth bag filled with anything that was hers that she had recovered at her home. She grabbed a book with a soft covering and velvet lining, this was her favorite story.
"Little Red Riding Hood," The story title read, a wave of emotions ran over her, suddenly recalling many of the memories of her mother and herself, sitting and reading the story together. A single teardrop ran down her face. She couldn't hold it in anymore, she bawled, her eyes became puffy and her face became red, she sat, book in her arms, crying and crying like she never has before.
Just like that, more and more memories started coming to her, they were as clear as the morning sky. She remembered when she first arrived here, how she was alone for months, years even. How she searched for days for food. When she finally figured out who trapped her here, and when Krystal arrived less than a day ago.
Aubrie wiped the tears from her face, and gently woke Krystal, looked her in the eyes and said urgently, "We have to go."
