✨Jayln Palmer ✨
Jayln pulled into her grandma's driveway and shut her car off. It's been a year and a half since Jayln been here. She sat back in her car, contemplating about the past events that took place in this house.
She got out the car and headed to the front door, knocking on it. Seconds later, the door swung open and instead of her grandmother's face being revealed, it was her mother.
Her smiled soon faded when she saw her mother's face. "Mama what are you doing here?" She asked confused.
Her mother scrunched up her face. "Well damn, hello to you too" she said placing her hands on her hips.
Jayln and her mother had a really rocky relationship. Her mother was never there for her because she was too busy roaming the streets. Her grandmother raised her . Even though she loved her mother, it was a lot of built up animosity towards her.
Jayln chuckled a little. "My bad ma, I just wasn't expecting you to be here" she said.
"Yeah well your grandmother told me that you was moving back so I had to come see you being that you don't be calling or checking on me." Her mother replied.
Jayln mentally rolled her eyes. She didn't have much to say to her mother except "hi" and "bye".
Her mother looked at her attire and suddenly she felt uncomfortable. "I see your still dressing like a little boy" her mother said. "Where grandma at?" Jayln asked looking around the house.
She was trying to change the subject before everything went left. Her mother didn't reply. "So this the life you wanna live?" She asked.
"You know when she coming back?"she asked clenching her jaw. At this point, Jayln was getting agitated with her mother and her constant judging.
"No. Why are you ignoring me ?" She questioned. Jayln sighed and looked at her mother. Her mother was a beautiful black woman with morals. Church morals. She didn't like the fact that her daughter was a lesbian. Muray did everything in her power to get Jayln to act like a little girl inside of a little tomboy.
"Mama cause I don't wanna argue with you. I came here to see my granny" she replied. Muray sighed. She didn't accept the fact that Jayln was gay. She wanted grandkids. She wanted her daughter to get married to a man.
The door swung opened and marcie entered. She smiled when she saw her granddaughter.
She walked over and gave her a hug. "Are you in here bothering this child?" Marcie said looking over at muray. Muray rolled her eyes and sighed.
"You spoil her that's why she feels like she don't have to listen to me" she replied folding her arms.
"Oh hush, I didn't spoil her. I can't help the fact that she listens to me and not you. Maybe if you were here more often you wouldn't have had that problem." Marcie replied smiling at Jayln.
"Now sweetie I fixed up your old room so you can stay in there." She told Jayln giving her a kiss on the cheek.
Jayln was so grateful for her grandmother. She didn't know where she would be or who she would be with out her.
