One Thing

"Lets just say, that week was hard for me back then. I almost lost all my friends because of it. I'd rather not tell you my past" I finished.

It was three years since then. I ended up meeting the new kid. Even though he was supposed to go to our school that year, he finally came this year. Turns out he lives right next to me. Still moving in too. We've become pretty close.

Some days I can handle him but others, its just to the point to where I am about to slap him. Today was one of them days. For some reason he wants to know what happened in the past for me.

Boys.

"Fine. But promise you will tell me some day Ava? Please?" Luke says looking into my plain eyes with his vibrant blue ones that matched the ocean.

"Yes I promise, now go! I need to get changed! Shoo peasant." I laugh and shove him out of my room.

"See you tomorrow then?"

"Yes Luke. It's the summer, of course you are. By the way,  don't forget to bring your bathing.suit because me and you are going to Aly's house tomorrow to swim in her pool."

"You mean strawberry?"

"Luke, if I could hit you right now I would but quite frankly I am trying to get changed. Don't say that about her ok?" I say trying to pull of my leggings.

"Ok bye Ava. I lush yewsh"

"I lush yewsh too Lukey" i giggle.

I opened my bedroom door as I say that and give him a hug and walk him to the front door.

"See you tomorrow." He says.

"Ok"

Then I close the door and head upstairs. I text my friend Aly.

So Als we can still come to your house tomorrow for the bonfire and swimming right?

From: Aly

Yeah, I got the cheetos!!

From: Me

Ok, see you tomorrow then

I put my phone down and turn on my tv. I put a scary movie in the DVR and watch it until I fall asleep.

I wake up to someone jumping on my.bed next to me.

"Mmmm...stop..." I mumble.

"Ava... wake up it's Lukey" he says as he lays next to me and hugs me.

It's amazing how close me and him are. Literally. Over the past month. We are so close that we can already go in each others house because we gave each other a key.

"Get away Luke... go get me something to eat if your here at least..." I sleepily say.

"Nope. I'm not getting up unless you kiss me.on the cheek." He simply say with a hint of playfullness in his voice.

"Ugh" I say finally opening.my.eyes and quickly pecking him on the cheek.

He grins widely and jumps off my bed and runs to the kitchen. I hear cubbards slamming and the fridge opening and closing.

He comes back with two bowls of cereal along with a smile on his face.

These moments make me feel happy and forget about my depression and everything that happened. Its because of him.

"So you know..." Luke trails off.

"What..." I say chewing the marshmallows in the cereal.

"It's almost time for us to go to Aly's.

Crap.
