Riften wasn't a surprise to Cari . It was only bigger with more people than she'd thought that there'd be .

Many of those people stopped to greet Arnbjorn ,who tightly held on to Cari's hand .

He still didn't want people too close to her .

"Where will we be going first, Arnbjorn?".Her mind voice was soft .

" The Ragged Flagon ,of course , I need to speak with Vex and Delvin .They may have some work for me to do ".

" I thought that you're the Guild Master ".

" I am ,Cari Love , but I like helping out . Mercer Frey before me hadn't been active ,I want to show that even the Guild Master can get down and dirty . Anyway, I want you to learn from the best thieves . That would be Vex and Delvin ".

" I thought that you'd be teaching me ".

She felt the sting of disappointment inside of her .

" I will be , but not when I'm on a job ,Cari, I'm sorry ".

Cari sighs then nods . She wouldn't want him to leave everything for her . She'll endure other's teachings and wait for him . She'd done it in Winterhold anyway .

Holding tight onto Arnbjorn's hand Cari lets her eyes roam over the circular room that was the living quarters of the Thieves Guild.

The Ragged Flagon Cistern ,it was called . She couldn't understand why people would want to live there . It had a far worse smell than the rest of Riften .

Some the thieves greeted Arnbjorn warmly while looking at her curiously.

She tried not to stare and tightened her grip on Arnbjorn's hand .

He squeezed her hand lightly indicating that he was there and he wouldn't let anyone hurt her .

" Is Brynjolf in?", he asked a woman with pitch black hair and a sour look upon her face .

" I don't know, Arnbjorn , " the woman answered ," he was out earlier when I left for a nearby job. Anyway, who's the girl?".

Cari wanted to protest that she wasn't a girl ,but a woman , but she kept her lips sealed because she didn't want trouble .The woman looked like she could kill her with one blow .

" Her name's Cari, Sapphire", he says before letting go of Cari's hand and then placing an arm around her shoulders , pulling her flush against his side .

Sapphire watched this display of affection and felt a pang of jealousy erupt inside of her . Many women felt like that around Arnbjorn . He was a great catch and it was frustrating that an unknown slip of a woman could get from him what they couldn't .

" Well, see you later , Sapphire , I'll go see Vex and Delvin now . Maybe they have more info ".

Sapphire  blinked then nodded and watched as Arnbjorn lead the girl away .

Cari didn't look back at Sapphire . She was sure that Sapphire would see it as a challenge .

"She would probably", Arnbjorn confirmed it .

She could hear the amusement in his mind voice .

" You find it amusing?",she asks incredulously .

" Course I do ,Cari Love , but I won't let her hurt you . You and I ... we'll stick together forever . So , don't worry . "

" I'm not worried . I just don't want any trouble ."
