Christel's POV

" Where's Tom ba? " Tanong ni Rachel, my bestfriend.

" I don't know, sabi nya pupunta lang daw sya sa SnR to buy something eh. "

" But, girl, we've been waiting here for several hours! May date pa kami ni Paul. " Reklamo nya.

" Hmm, " nag isip ako sandali. " If you want, mauna ka na. I can handle myself naman eh. Go to your date na. "

" Are you sure? " She asked.

" Oo, oo. " i smiled, assuring her that i'll be fine.

" Okay, sige. Bye na ha. Mag ingat ka, baka may mga madurugas dito. " I looked at her eyes. She knows me that well kaya alam nya na kung anong meaning nun. She then sighed. " Sige, bye. "

Nung nawala na sya, i took my phone to check kung may message ba sya. And i was right, meron nga.

I swiped my phone screen to unlock my phone and opened the message.

' Christel, sandali lang ha. Umalis na ako sa SnR, papunta na ako dyan. Sorry you waited for me. '

Di ko na sya ni reply-an.

Nung masyado na akong na inip, pumunta muna ako sa Krispy Kreme to buy glazed donuts and such.

Habang nag lalakad ako, narinig kong may tumatawag sa akin. Huminto muna ako tas hinanap kung sino yung tumatawag sakin. But i didn't see her / him.

Pero nung nag lakad ulit ako, tinawag nya ulit ako. Tas nakita ko ulit sya.

" Hi, " she greeted.

" Ynna? "

She smiled, " Yep, it's me! Ako yung tumatawag sayo.. Uh, can we talk for a little bit? "

" Sure, um.. Saan tayo pwedeng mag usap? " I said trying not to sound like the awkward one.

" I prefer, we should have lunch together? " I nodded. Tas nag lakad na kami papunta kung saan. " Uh, would you like to eat on a buffet? "

" Oo naman. Your choice na kung saan. I'm not familiar with this place. "

" Ako din eh, " We laughed. " Siguro ordinary place na lang? Like, Starbucks? "

" Wait, how about going to my friend's restaurant? Do you know Cafe de France? " I asked. Pero nakita ko syang nanlumo. Yumuko sya and i saw her bit her lip. " So, i guess that's a no? " i asked.

" I'm sorry, can we go to other place? "

" Of course, siguro Starbucks na din ang bagsak natin. "

Tas ayun, we walked to starbucks. Habang nag lalakad kami, i feel the awkwardness in the air. Akala ko, hindi nya nararamdaman yung pagka-awkward. Pero yun pala, akala ko lang yun.

" So, uh. Kamusta na kayo ni Tom? Still strong? " She asked.

" Oo naman. I didn't thought that we will last. I'm just waiting for him to propose. "

" Oh, good for you, napa tunay mo na na sainyo ni Tom na may forever. While me, " nag sigh sya. " Never had one eh. Well, i'm in love with someone, but unfortunately he doesn't love me back. " Sabi nya with her sad tone.

I tapped her back. " Okay lang yan. Sooner or later, magiging kayo din. Tiwala lang. " I said, assuring her na everything will be fine.

" I hope so. I think he has fallen hardly to that girl. That girl is so lucky. Meron na nga syang boyfriend, may nag mamahal sakanya discreetly. " She laughed bitterly.

I smiled. I don't know, but i think that she was referring that girl to me. Di ako sure ah, sa tingin ko lang yun.

" By the way, Ynna. You look gorgeous today. Wearing that black skinny jeans and that floral tank top? Parang na i-inggit ako sayo. " I laughed. She also did the same way.

" No, you look gorgeous. You have your own fashion taste. I like it. "

" Yeah, i've been designing my own clothes. I also make them, actually, i have my own shop. "

" Oh really? You've achieved your dream, Christel. You told me back then that you will make a shop of yours, a clothes shop. "

" Yeah, look at me now! " Pag ma-mayabang ko. Not literally, i said a sardonically. " How about you? Nagawa mo na ba ang dream bakery shop mo? " I asked.

" Yun nga, i need someone to design my shop. I don't know how to design, i'm such a failure to that. "

" Ynna, i can be an architect for your shop. No fees, i'll do it for you. " I said seriously.

" Really? I wish that i am you. You have so many talents! "

I laughed. " Remember? I drew a dream house for us, when i told you back then na gusto ko mag kasama tayo sa iisang bahay? I mean, no malice included. It's our best friend's goals back then. "

Biglang natahimik si Ynna. " Yeah. Back then. Sana ngayon mag kaibigan parin tayo. " She whispered, kahit rinig ko naman yung sinabi nya.

" We still can be friends, Ynna. If you'll allow ourselves a second chance? " I asked sincerely.

" Woah. Didn't thought that you know those lines. " She laughed. " But, can we? "

" Of course. "

" We're here na pala. " She said.

" Ganun tayo kabilis mag lakad? " I said with disbelief. She nodded.

Pumasok na kami ng Starbucks. I smelled their brewed coffee. Such a good smell.

" Still love this smell, huh? " Ynna asked.

" Yup, never did i refused to smell their shop. " We laughed.

Hay, i missed this. Kahit may mga sariling kaibigan na kaming dalawa, kapag kasama mo ang dati mong best friend, you'll admit to yourself that it feels so good. It's a good feeling to have yourself your ex best-friend.
