"I can't believe they're starting to walk already. It seems like yesterday when they were born.."
"I know... A year really flew by."
Roughly a year ago Momo and Shouto had their first children. Twins. Twin boys to be exact. For these two Pro Heroes having children was just another part of their job. Granted, it was a much harder job than they could have ever imagined, but somehow they had managed to last a year with them.
It did help that Shouto's mother, Rei Todoroki, had moved in with them after three months. Juggling their work and parenting was a challenge and it was easier on everyone if the nanny for the twins was their grandmother, so that's what had happened. Having Rei watching them at home was a weight off their minds while they were at work. It made it easier knowing their children were in the hands of someone kind and caring.
Currently however, it was a warm summer evening and the two Pro Heroes had gotten home early from work, happy that they could spend time as a family, but what they hadn't been expecting was that Taichi and Daichi had begun to walk while they were gone. For the past couple of hours the happy parents had been spending their time wit their children. Rei had gone upstairs to bed after dinner and Momo, Shouto, and the twins were left downstairs to spend some quality time together.
The couple sat on the floor of their spacious living room nearly a meter apart from one another with Daichi and Taichi between them.
Shouto held his hands out to Daichi who had slowly been taking steps in his direction. For not being much of a people person, or even someone who was good with kids, Shouto was an excellent father so far in his life. It surprised him how much he loved his kids and how naturally most things came to him. He smiled at his son when he reached his hand, grabbing on to him and falling forward. "Great job little man. I'm so proud of you," Shouto happily said, looking over to Momo who was smiling brightly at their other son.
Like Shouto, Momo had adapted very quickly to being a mother. The instant the twins were born she had an unending love for them that had awoken within her. Everything she did she did for them, wanting them to have the best life that they could provide for them. The quality time she and her husband spent with them at home was her favorite part of the day. "You did it Tai! Mama's so happy! You can walk!" she beamed, wrapping Taichi up in a warm hug as he collapsed into her arms.
Taichi laughed as he grabbed onto his mother's shirt, pulling himself into her lap more. "Mama! Ma ma ma ma," he babbled happily, sensing the joy in his mom's voice.
Shouto smiled as he watched Momo pick Taichi up, holding him up above her, kissing him and making him laugh. Daichi was sitting in his lap staring up at him. He looked over at his mom and brother then focused back up at his dad. "Da!" he sternly said, standing up and using Shouto's chest to help support himself.
He looked down at his son who clearly wanted to convey something to him. "What?" he chuckled, seeing the stern look in his bright blue and grey eyes. Daichi turned his head and looked to Momo and Taichi. Momo was holding him above her but she was now laying on her back. Taichi was laughing hysterically as Momo moved him up and down, making dramatically playful gasping noises which in turn only made him laugh more. "Oh I see," Shouto said, wrapping one arm around Daichi and scooping him up. "You're jealous of Tai."
In a swift motion Shouto rolled onto his back with enough momentum on the hard wood floor that he slid to where Momo was. His arm was firmly wrapped around Daichi, making sure he wouldn't squirm and fall off as he made his move. Daichi simply laughed and smiled brightly, completely entertained by his father's maneuver.
Taichi looked over to them, smiling and laughing, reaching out to Shouto. "Da! Dada!" he squealed, squirming so much that Momo nearly dropped him.
