A/N: Been a little busy recently so I haven't been able to update recently.. Hopefully this was worth the wait 😅
There was no such thing as an ordinary day at the Todoroki household. Some days included Daichi and Taichi fighting over toys, a now pregnant Momo crying for no apparent reason in turn causing the twins to think that their mother was sad and then cry too — when this happened Shouto had to choose to help his wife or calm his children and there was never really a right choice. Other days involved Shouto being injured on the job and taking a few days to recover but he was unable to rest due to tending to his wife who was eight months pregnant, helping his mother with housework and shopping, and then taking care of his current children..
It was chaos these days and anything could happen. Nothing in their lives was set in stone.
Shouto stood in his kitchen, making himself and his wife some tea, listening to the faint sounds of his children in their play room on the other end of the large open living room. Yesterday he was stabbed in the abdomen while in pursuit of highly wanted and deadly Villains. He fought through the pain, closing his wound shut with his Quirk and pushing his stamina to his limit while sustaining even more injuries as he stalled until his team caught up to help out. Looking back on it he should have played his cards better so he didn't get so beat up, but taking the first initial hit to his abdomen was something he couldn't avoid since he was on his own, protecting citizens, and was highly outnumbered.
He let out a sigh, setting his hand over the stitches he had gotten. Without Recovery Girl around to help heal terrible injuries, Heroes had to try and play it a little safer these days or else suffer the consequences for their heroics. Thankfully not everyday was a disaster of fighting Villains. Things had slowed down a bit since The Liberation Front went under for the most part, but that didn't put an end to all crime — some of the rules just changed over the years.
"I need to be more careful... I can't afford to get hurt right now.. Not with Momo this pregnant," he muttered to himself, his eyes locked on his wife who was sitting on the couch with with her back to him. Flashbacks of him being a dense idiot about getting injured the first time she was pregnant played in his mind. This time around she only had one baby inside of her so things were a little easier with that aspect of it, but Shouto knew that she was already stressed more than she should be since he wasn't home much and when he was he was hurt. "I need to do something for her.. I should be doing everything for her," he whispered as he retrieved the tea from the stove top.
The Hero might have been off duty for the day out in society, but at home he never stopped working. Right now every little task he did for Momo she was extremely grateful for — anything that allowed her not to get up when she was comfortable was good, even though she wasn't comfortable often. Eight months into her second pregnancy and she was so done with it. Her patience was very thin with many things and there were days when Shouto didn't know if he would be dealing with his moody, pregnant, short tempered wife, or the woman he had fallen in love with in highschool who was sweet on him and tasted like strawberries or vanilla when he kissed her..
He approached Momo, a tray in his hands with the teapot, two cups, and a the last piece of a small cake he had bought yesterday just for her. Which Momo do I get right now..? he wondered as he stepped around the couch, setting the platter on the coffee table.
Momo set the book she and been reading down, book marking her page before focusing on the tray that had hot tea and a treat just for her. "What's this?" she asked, up turning her eyes, meeting Shouto's.
Shouto poured her a cup and handed it to her, being extremely cautious not to spill any. "Thought you'd appreciate a hot drink. It's ginger. I know you've grown fond of it while pregnant.." he said, handing the cup off to her.
