"Yoo Hyejin, get your lazy ass up and get ready for school!" Hyejin's grandma said as she ripped the covers off of her. Hyejin groaned, refusing to open her eyes. "Just let me stay at home, grandma. They'll kick me out sooner or later anyways." Hyejin said groggily, mind still fogged with sleep. "Oh they will alright if you don't get your act straight! Now get up before you get late." Her grandma said with a huff before leaving the room. Hyejin open her eyes and sighed, then sitting up and practically trudged to the bathroom.
She hated school. She hated people. This is her third school now all through out highschool. Not that she cares though. She's doing this for her grandma who took her in when her dad left her here a month ago.
He got tired of me, finally. She always thought.
After a warm bath to wake her up, she wore her uniform and did her hair, using a blow dryer to dry it. Her hair was short so she didn't really put that much effort in drying it. She left her room after putting her contacts on and went downstairs, seeing her grandmother preparing for breakfast. "I see you've finally woken up." Grandma said nonchalantly. Hyejin muttered a small 'yeah' before taking a seat, immediately stuffing a sausage in her mouth. "Yah, don't eat too fast. You'll get indigestion." Her grandma said with a chuckle as she sat down in front of her.
"My, look at how you've grown." Grandma said cheerfully. "Yeah, a full grown disappointment." Hyejin said casually. Grandma reached over and hit her head lightly with a chopstick, Hyejin wincing in pain. "Ow! What was that for?!" Hyejin asked, rubbing her head. "You may be a disappointment in your father's eyes but not me. You're dad's a disappointment for abandoning you here. Besides, it's never too late to start over again, Hyejin-ah." Her grandmother said, looking at Hyejin sincerely.
Hyejin grimaced and sighed before standing up, grabbing her bag in the process. "I'll go to school now." She said simply. "Hyejin-ah, wait!" Her grandmother called out. "Here's some pocket money, don't spend it on other things, okay?" Grandma said as she handed the money to Hyejin. "Don't worry, I won't." Hyejin said with a cheeky smile before running off. "And don't skip class!" Grandma shouted, watching her granddaughter turning back a bit, waving goodbye. "That cheeky girl, of course she'll spend it on other things." Her grandma said to herself, chuckling as she went in their home.

Hyejin looked around her surroundings as her homeroom teacher led her to their classroom. "With your record, I hope you fix your attitude because this school will not tolerate your misbehaviour. Am I making myself clear?" The homeroom teacher, Mrs. Choi, said as she turned around to face Hyejin. "Yeah, sure." Hyejin said simply. Mrs. Choi rolled her eyes before opening up the classroom door, the students inside imediately went back to their respective places. Hyejin walked in and looked around with a bored expression on her face. She immediately knew which is which. The classroom jocks are located around the back as the popular girls are around the front then the rest are just common people. And not to mention a loner at the back of the classroom. The typical seated-beside-the-window person. It suited his personality though, a quiet demeanor.
Hyejin heaved out a sigh. Today is gonna be a long day.
"Okay class, I would like you to meet your new classmate." Mrs. Choi announced. The whole attention of the class was now brought to Hyejin who seems unfazed. "Hyejin. Yoo Hyejin." She said, her hands on her pockets as she looked at the whole class in a bored manner. The girls at front eyed her, then whispering amongst themselves. "She looks like a bitch." Park Minsoo, the leader of the popular girls, whispered to the girl at her side, making her giggle. "I think she's pretty." Kwang Ji Eun said, the dumb one in the group, and also the daughter of the principal.
Mrs. Choi looked at Hyejin, a tight smile on her face. "Is there anything else you would like to say to your classmates?" She said dryly. "None, I'd like to sit down now." Hyejin said, looking at her teacher. Her rebuttal made other students chuckle, earning a hard glare from their teacher.
"Alright then, why won't you take a seat in that vacant chair over there, the one in the second to the last row at the back." Mrs. Choi instructed. Hyejin noted and followed, sitting down on her chair. "Excuse me, noona. Do you have a boyfriend?" A voice suddenly asked from behind her.
Right, she ended up sitting in front of the classroom jocks. She sighed and turned her head around, faking a smile as she looked at the guy who spoke to her. "I don't, actually." She sweetly. "Do you have health insurance?" She asked back, still maintaining her sweet act as the male looking at her in confusion. "Uh, no?" He said uncertainly. "I thought so. So shut up before I beat you up." Hyejin said, dropping her smile and giving him an annoyed look. The other guys laughed at her savage words as the guy that tried to hit on her tried to shush them down to save him from his embarrassment. "You don't need to be so sassy, Hyejin. My name's Jisung, by the way. Han Jisung." He said after regaining his composure. Hyejin just flipped him off.
Yup, it's gonna be a long day.
"Han Jisung, stop pestering the new student." Mrs. Choi scolded making Jisung smile sheepishly. "Alright, since we have a new student, why won't you introduce yourself to her." The homeroom teacher added, making the other students groan in unison. "Ah-ah, let's start with you, the one at the back staring at the window." Mrs. Choi pointed out. It was the quiet looking kid Hyejin saw earlier. She admired the way his hair looked soft and how his glasses look adorable on him and how innocent he looks.
Hyejin would lie if she said she doesn't have a soft spot for people like him so he's definitely her type.
He teared his gaze from the window and nodded. With a little smile, he stood up before introducing himself, Hyejin listening closely.
"Good morning, everyone. My name is Seungmin. Kim Seungmin."
