Zachary Harris-
I've always been hidden away from most people. The only people I've met was my mother and father, also some of his rough friends. I've never liked my fathers 'business partners' they're so rough and insensitive, like they're solid rock with no emotions.
I have emotion but nobody's seen it, nobody's seen me. I rarely get to go out in public. My father orders groceries for me online every week and they're delivered to the door. I am taking online classes for the end of my senior year. We have no real backyard, were isolated but my father has fences, chains, and electric wiring all around so as soon as I walked out back I have two feet before getting shocked. I have such a great father huh? Yeah he's definitely great. You may be thinking why doesnt his mother protect him and take care of him? Why doesn't she go buy the groceries, and clean the house, and keep an eye on him? Well, that's a story I guess I have to share with you, no matter how paining it is.
*Flash back starts*
My mom home schooled me til seventh grade, so I was always home (like I always have been.) One day on August 3rd right after my 12th birthday I believe, I heard my fathers slurred voice yelling through the front door. I hid in the corner by the kitchen scared and not wanting him to beat me again. He yelled at my mother saying "Rachelle! I'm about done with you! this is all your fault! All of it!" Even with the slurring he sounded fierce and venomous, like he could kill us with one breath. I saw my mother cowering in the corner, this wasnt the first time that he's done this. After he yells at my mother he beats her until shes broken. My mother thinks I don't see it happening and tells me that she just has a long day at work and needs sleep. My mother never tolerated violence, she wouldn't hurt a fly. She's got patience and deep, caring, brown eyes, I could tell her anything and we would figure out a solution. How my mother ended up marrying my father I'll never know. On August 21st I came back from a guitar lesson (the only time I was allowed out of the house) and found my mother dead. She had a bullet hole in her stomache and head, my father walked in and looked shaken up. All my father said was "She committed suicide, and she left a note," then he walked off unaffected by all that happened.
I never really undertsood the note, which leads me to think something else happened. I know my mom was patient and gentle but she was a fighter to, she wouldn't commit suicide. Ever. The note read: "If youre reading this that means that I chose to end it all, I love you very much Zachary I never want you to forget that. I love you zachary. Forever. -Mama" My mother always said a specific line to me when she had to go somewhere it was our code because my father trapped us and never let us be free. The code was "dream of me my little honey bee and you'll always be freed." it had always been our way of saying we were ok. Since that night I've never trusted anyone, not even my own father.
