birthday boy ♡

The loud music made Mark’s eardrum pound alongside the bass vibrating every bone in his body. It was his birthday today and Johnny decided it would be fun to take him and the boys out to the club to party it up.

Half of the group was already tipsy or drunk and dancing. Mark, on the other hand, was steadily enjoying his glass of mixed liquor while chatting with the still-sober friends of his.

They all laughed upon seeing Johnny getting down on the dance floor, the glass half full with his drink still in his hand. Mark shook his head with a huge grin. He was really happy to be here with his best friends instead of home alone binge watching his dramas.

What he didn’t expect was a group of girls appearing before them at their table. He squinted and noticed that they were the girls from their college! He knew Johnny must have invited them just to turn it up a little bit more and make things more exciting. Mark wouldn’t say he’s opposed to it but it did make him feel a little awkward.

One of the girls sat quietly at their booth, despite her friends being rowdy and ready to party. She wasn’t much of a clubber, so she was more than content when her drink was handed to her and her friends all went their ways with the boys from the group. She was surprised to see Mark still sitting there, though.

“Happy birthday, Mark.” She stated simply, taking a sip of her drink. “I’m surprised you’re not out there busting moves.” She laughed lightly.

Mark let out a shaky chuckle. “Yeah, it’s not really my thing.”

The girl raised a brow, “Oh? Then why did you let Johnny drag you out here? Your birthday, your choice in my opinion.”

Mark shrugged, “It’s something new but they’re all having fun so I’m good with it.” He took a quick glance at her, his heart beating just a little bit faster. Was it from the drink he has or was it the music in his body? Or was it the fact that he has this absolute crush on her? “You’re not going to dance?”

She smiled, “Only if the birthday boy dances with me. If not, then I’m staying right here. I don’t club, either.”

Mark laughed, “Well I guess we’re both stuck here, huh? Glad to have you here for company, though, since your friends took my friends away.”

The girl made a face, “Precisely why I don’t ever party with them. Do you want to step out with me for a little bit? Maybe we could actually go and grab a nice little cake for you, too.” She took up and walked towards the club doors, Mark following closely behind her.

He took in the appearance of his crush. White skinny jeans that made her toned legs more prominent, as well as a black halter top that showed a little bit of her flat tummy which was also toned. He could feel a nosebleed coming soon. She looked way too hot for his own good.

It was a new appearance for him, as he normally saw her in a pair of sweatpants and a T-shirt, but he didn’t complain of the sexy character in front of him. In fact, he very much enjoyed it. She was a beautiful woman in whatever she wore.

The two duo ended up a few blocks away from the club and was sitting at a 24 hr breakfast restaurant. Mark ordered a stack of pancakes whereas she ordered small appetizers. Once their food was served, she pulled out some candles from her purse and placed them on the pancakes. “Pretend they’re lit.” She stated before quietly singing happy birthday to him.

Mark was more than surprised by the gesture but he couldn’t help grinning, half in appreciation and half in embarrassment. There was no way this was happening. They both clapped together when she finished singing and he pretended to blow out the candles after making his wish.

“Thanks, Y/N, that was awesome,” he giggled, finally taking a bite of his pancakes.

She smiled and hummed in response. They say in comfortable silence until they were done eating. “Breakfast always seems to be a good meal after drinking,” she said with a chuckle.

Mark couldn’t agree more. They both paid their bill(although it was Mark’s birthday, he covered the payments even after she offered to pay for his) and decided maybe it was better to take a walk around. The night air was crisp and cool and he didn’t feel like going back to a stuffy club.

“Hold on, let me stop by the car to change. I don’t think I can take another step in these shoes.” The girl quickly jumped into her friend’s car once they arrived and began changing, surprising Mark.

He quickly looked away with a deep red flushed face. Talk about no warning! He wasn’t quite ready to see her half naked, much less expecting it at all!

“Okay, all done!” She said, wiggling out of the backseat.

‘Ah, back into the comfy clothes,’ Mark thought. But he didn’t hate it - she was much more cuter with her simplicity of an outfit and thought comfort was definitely better than looks. “You look cute like that,” he blurted without any thought at all.

She looked up at him, her facial features showing the surprise she felt and he quickly covered his mouth. “O-oh, thank you. Wait, does that mean I don’t look cute at any other time?”

Mark gasped and shook his head profusely, “No way you’re always cute! I mean, just a second ago you were really hot- I MEAN- your clothes and you. Just. Ahhh…” Mark Lee was a fool. He totally embarrassed himself in front of the only girl he likes. He could dig a hole up right now and bury himself in it.

But she slowly smiled and quickly came in for a peck on his lips, leaving the poor boy dazed and confused. “Thank you, Mark. You’re always quite cute and handsome yourself.”

That was it to turn Mark into a giggling mess. She KISSED him! Yeah it was a small peck but still a kiss nonetheless. He wouldn’t even be able to explain what that made his whole body feel like. He just wanted to melt right then and there. But instead, “Do you want to come over to my house? Maybe watch a movie and have a glass of wine?”

The girl grinned, grabbing hold of Mark’s hands before nodding, “Of course. I would love to.”
