"We're here Mitchie." I whispered to the sleeping boy in the passenger's seat.

His eyes gracefully fluttered open to reveal the beautiful chocolate coloured swirls that still so much amaze me. He glanced around at our surroundings.

"Don't look up too much. Get out of the car and come with me." I instructed excitedly, my voice barely over a whisper.

He nodded gently and got out, following behind me closely as we walked a trail through the heavily wooded area. Two minutes later, we emerged into a vast clearing where the rough gravel that marked the path faded into soft dirt and lush grass.

"It's gorgeous..." He whispered.

"I know. Now look up." That sparkle in his eyes was enough to make me know that I had not messed up.

He slowly tilted back his head. I watched as his hands quickly found themselves over his mouth.

"Scott" it was a slow quiet word that confirmed my actions of bringing him here.

I followed his gaze straight up to the millions of visible stars sparkling in the sky. We were in the middle of the forest in California and there was no light pollution keeping the stars out of sight.

I quickly glanced back down and guided Mitch to lie on the ground so he could see better. We both laid down and I watched him intently as he stared at the sky. I loved the look of awe and wonder passing over his gorgeous features.

After two minutes he glanced over at me and with a confused look he asked, "Why are you looking at me? The stars are gorgeous."

"Mitch, you're a sky full of stars. You're stunningly beautiful, you brighten my darkest nights, you glisten and shine. But most importantly you are my sky full of stars and I want it to stay that way forever. Mitchell Coby Michael Grassi, will you marry me?" I slipped the ring out of my pocket.

His hands shot up to cover his mouth as tears welled in his eyes, "Yes-- Oh my gosh. Yes!" I slipped it on his finger gently.

He rolled over on top of me and kissed me firmly. I wrapped my arms around his waist holding him to me.

He pulled back a little, framing my face with his hands. "I love you Scott Richard Hoying."

"I love you five times more Mitchy."
