The Park

*Midoriya POV*

I love the park. It's a perfect mix of quiet and peaceful, and loud and lively. Best of all, Kachan never comes to the park. He thinks it's boring. I like to keep my head down, though, just in case anyone from my school is at the park. I don't need to be tormented more than I have to.

The trees were swaying slightly in the wind. It was not a particularly beautiful day, for the sky was full of off-white clouds. The weather said it wasn't going to rain, though, so at least it was cool out, and it wasn't going to rain. Not a lot of people were out, because of the clouds, but, there were still a fair amount of people out.

I hear a scream from up ahead. It must be a villain! I excitedly ran over to where I heard the scream, and luckily enough, it is a villain. The villain looks to have a simple water manipulation quirk. There already is a hero fighting the villain. A fairly new hero, Kamui Woods. I pull out my notebook to take notes. Kamui Woods is about to do his signature move, lacquered chain prison!! He's so cool! I jot down notes about his moves and his techniques, when someone taps me on the shoulder. I turn around, and there is a kid, who looks to be about my age. Maybe a little older. Half of his hair is white, and the other half is red. His eyes are two different colors too, gray, and blue. Over his blue eye he had a scar. Probably from a burn. He looked kind of familiar.

He held out something in his hand, and said, "You dropped this." I looked at his hand, and there was my wallet. It must have fallen out of my backpack. I said, "Oh my gosh, thank you so much!" I bowed, and continued, "I'm so sorry for the inconvenience." I stood up straight again, and he said, "It was really no problem at all." I took the wallet from his hand, and as I was putting it away, I introduced myself.  "I'm Izuku Midoriya. What's your name?"

"I'm Shoto Todoroki."

Todoroki! That's it! He's Endeavor's son!  I smiled, and turned back to where the villain attack was happening, and pulled out my notebook again. The fight was obviously almost done. Todoroki kun walked up beside me. "What's that?" He asked, gesturing to the notebook. I responded, "It's my notes on heroes."

"Oh, do you want to be a hero?" he questioned.

"Well... Yeah. But, I probably won't be able to become a hero."

"Why's that?"

"I'm quirkless."

"Oh."

"Yeah." I tilted my head down, and smiled. The fight ended, and the crowd cleared up. Todoroki kun was still standing beside me. I was finishing jotting down notes, and he was looking down with a thoughtful look on his face.

"I think you can still be a hero," he said. I knew he was just saying that to be nice, but I let myself feel happy for a few seconds. "Thanks," I responded. "I can still try!" I said with a hopeful smile. "Do you like heros, Todoroki kun?"

"Yeah, I do. I want to be a hero too."

"What's your quirk?"

"It's half-cold half-hot. Pretty self explanatory."

"That's so cool! That's such a cool quirk!!" I exclaimed, with a smile on my face. He smiled slightly, too. We started walking across the park.

"Do you live around here?" I asked.

"No," he answered. "I heard there was a place with good soba around here, so I took the train here. You?"

"Yeah, I live a few blocks away. I think I know what place you're talking about, too! I could walk you there, if you want!"

"Sure. That would be great."

We started walking towards the soba place, and talking. Todoroki kun is really nice. He doesn't talk a lot, but he's really cool. He says his favorite food is cold soba. He has two brothers, one sister. He's wanted to be a hero his entire life. On the contrary my favorite food is katsudon, I don't have any siblings, but I have an awesome mom, and I've also wanted to be a hero my entire life. We are very different, but I still enjoyed his company. He was a nice guy. It was nice to be around someone who wasn't tormenting me.

We got to the soba place, and ate our soba, still talking about various subjects. We lost track of time, and we were becoming much better friends. We walked out the soba place at about five thirty. "I had a lot of fun today!" I said to Todoroki kun, and smiled.

"I did too!" Todoroki kun responded. "Hey, can I have your phone number?"

"Sure! It's xxx-xxx-xxxx."

"Ok, I'll text you later."

"Great! See you later, Todoroki kun!"

"Yeah, see you later Midoriya."

We waved goodbye, and went our separate ways. Why is my heart beating so fast?

*Todoroki POV*

He was cute. Midoriya was nice. I really enjoyed hanging out with him. Right now, I'm laying in my bed, with bigger issues. What the hell should I text him? It's nine thirty in the night, and I've been thinking about this for three hours. Shoot! Why am I so nervous? Why is my heart beating so fast? Maybe just something simple.

Todoroki: Hey, Midoriya. This is Todoroki.
