Unknowns P.O.V.
*flash back*
The wind whistled through my hair blowing it over my face creating veneer of hair in front of my eyes. The night’s cool air bit at my cheeks. The bundle in my arms nestled closer to my chest; my warmth trying to get protection from the bitter cold. Looking down at the bundle of joy lying in my arms, I couldn’t help the single warm drop slide down my face.
An arm wrapped around my waist in an effort of comforting me that usually if not always comforts me, but nothing could comfort me. I had to give up my only daughter.
“It’s for the best,” Mother coaxed trying to help me understand.
“I don’t understand why I should have to give her away. She’s not even a week old!” I manage to get out. My throat swelled and my vision became blurred.
“You know why we have to give her up, if she grows up knowing who she is, she will be a liability to our family; a weak spot. Many people will want to take her, she holds an important position. ” My mother’s figure stands next to me trying to help me cope. Her nearly glowing appearance holds superiority, it is no wonder she is from the heavens. “I’m not happy that I will have to watch my granddaughter grow up from afar, but she will remain safe.”
“Honey it’s hard for me to, we have to do what’s best for her, she is mortal. She holds my blood; you know that is also a liability. People might see her as a threat or something dangerous. We can’t take the risk,” my husband, Jonathan says trying to persuade me. His arms remained around my waist, pushing my body forward. I tilt my head up to look at his face, his fangs glistening in the moon light. I meet his amber glowing eyes to see wetness brimming in them too.
“I know,” I whispered defeated. I couldn’t help the silent tears run down my face.
“I looked through many families to see which one will be taking care of your daughter and I have found the perfect one, she will have a mother and father and an older brother with a younger one on the way that will take care of her. Here we are,” my mother told us.
My hesitant steps became non-existent as I took in the cabin in front of me. Ivy climbed up the cabin’s walls, giving you the impression that the cabin came out of fairy tale. Various trees lined the edges of the cabin and wild flowers were littered underneath the window. Giant pines stared down at us surrounding the perimeter of the cabin, shielding it from speculating eyes. Smoke was rising up from chimney secretly telling us that someone was home.
Jonathan’s arm touched the small of my back pushing my unwilling body forward up the cobblestone path. Nearing the door I stood behind Mother and Jonathan, afraid of breaking down when the door would open. Mother’s fist collided with the wooden door. A woman with soft brown eyes opened the door as a man with quizzical green eyes came up behind her wrapping his arms protectively around her waist. They both shared the same figure that all werewolves share - strong but lean. Warm air brushed my face as it escaped through the open door. The couple stared quizzically at us wondering what we could possibly be doing knocking at their door at this time of night.
“Mrs. and Mr. Bradly,” Mother greeted the couple. The couple looked us with a look that wondered why our faces looked so familiar.
