"Wake up, Mondo." I heard from next to me.

MONDO POV

I sat up slowly and rubbed my eyes. "It's time for school, so get dressed." My brother said tossing my jacket next to me.

"O-okay." I rolled out of bed as Daiya walked out of my room. I got dressed and checked the time. Five minutes until I had to be at school?! Thanks, bro, you're soooo helpful. I rushed out the door without eating and hopped on my motorcycle. I rushed to school as fast as I could.

I arrived in about two minutes, only breaking about four traffic laws. I parked and ran into the school. I ran into class just as the bell rang, but I noticed something. Ishimaru, who sat in front of me, hadn't combed his hair today. Unusual. He was usually the most mature in the school! Plus, I had never seen him with untidy hair. Even Makoto's hair was better kept his today. Honestly, it was kinda hot seeing him without giving a fuck about his hair. I'll have to talk to him about it after class.

I sat through the lesson without paying attention, and eventually it was over. I saw Taka stand over and walk out the door holding his bag. Wait a minute. Was he... limping? I ran up to him when he reached his locker. "Hey, dude. You doing all right?" When he turned around, I was both surprised and sad to see that one of his eyes was swollen shut and there were bags under both of them. There was a fresh scar on his forehead and scuffs on his nose. My throat closed up a bit seeing him like this.

"Y-yeah. I'm fine, Mondo." His voice was scratchy and it sounded like it hurt him to talk. I could see his eye start to water, which made me want to cry too. But I couldn't. Imagine if one of the biggest gang leaders in the world cried at the sight of a kid who followed the rules all the damn time. My reputation would be ruined.

"You should go to the nurse's office, bro." I said examining his face once more. When we made eye contact, it took everything in me to hold back tears. Unfortunately, Ishimaru could read me like a book.

"Mondo, are you okay?" He asked. Dammit! He looked concerned about me! He should be the one taken care of! I sniffed and swallowed the ball in my throat.

"I'm fine. I should be the one asking you! You're not fine, Taka. Something happened, and I wanna know what it is!" I nearly yelled at him.

"I-I don't want to talk about it." He turned to walk away, but I grabbed his wrist. He flinched with pain so I let go. "I might tell you later." He said with his back turned to me. He hobbled away without a second glance. Jesus, that poor guy! What happened to him?

THIRD POV

Ishimaru passed a corner and went to his next class. Unfortunately for him though, the teacher saw him and sent him to the nurse's office.

ISHIMARU POV

I limped down the empty hallway to go see Mikan, the Super High School Level Nurse, when I heard footsteps behind me. I stopped in my tracks, and so did the person. I turned my head to look at who it was. His eyes met mine, and Chihiro looked me up and down. "Mondo was right..." I heard him say to himself. He looked back up at me. "Taka, are you okay?" I could see his eyes full of tears. "You look hurt." I turned to face him fully.

"You should be in class, Fujisaki," I said. "Skipping is not allowed and could be seriously punished." He looked taken aback, either from my words or my voice.

"I got permission to walk you to the nurse's office," He ran closer to me. "You shouldn't just be going to the school nurse, you look like you need a hospital!" A tear ran down his cheek and dripped off his chin.

"My dad would never pay for it." I said, letting him grab my hand. It hurt for a second, but it felt better after a moment. "Plus, he's the one who did this to me..." I thought. I knew I had been limping after my fall on my way home last night, but my dad had definitely made it worse. "Not that I even need a hospital. It's just a little limp and some scrapes. It's okay, Chihiro." I said, trying to comfort him.

"O-okay." He said. We arrived at the nurse's office and Mikan greeted us.

"Hello." She said greeting us at the door. She looked me up and down. "You look kinda messed up..." she said to herself. "UM!" She looked back at me. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that out loud!" She bowed her head.

"It's fine." I said and walked in, leaving Chihiro alone in the halls. "I know."

MONDO POV

I waited for Fujisaki to meet me at lunch. After a bit, she joined me at our table. We usually sit with Leon, but we needed to talk alone today. "So, did he say anything?" I asked him.

"No, he's kept quiet all day." Chihiro said, toying with her food. I looked down, disappointed. I would try to talk to him later. I looked up at Fujisaki. "I'm sorry, Mondo." I was trying not to cry. Ishimaru was basically my entire world, aside from Daiya. I pushed my tray away from me, not hungry. My heart ached for Taka. He wasn't himself anymore. It had only been a couple hours, but I missed him.

*Hey, sorry for the short chapter, I haven't been that motivated lately. I will continue, but maybe not for the week. Idk. I will be updating soon enough though.*
