"Good morning, Direk!" Is Emi still half-asleep? Or is this some stupid dream given last night's events?
For she's currently seeing Dylan clad in a black shirt and black ripped jeans with those clear-framed specs while leaning by the driver seat's door of the rented van for the production crew in their designated meeting place which was by their university's front gate.
"Don't you good morning me, Dylan. What are you even doing here?" It hasn't been 24 hours since the two discussed about giving Emi 'her space', and that sudden proclamation of Dylan to which kept her awake all throughout the night so she'd really hoped to not see his mere silhouette this day.
It wasn't helping Emi keep her usual calm in place.
"I'm officially the team's PA." He proudly smiled with a salute to Emi, like introducing himself to his commander.
"What the hell—"
"Glad you could make it, JD." Grace piped in from behind them and Emi's mouth was wide open in shock. Grace knew about this? Did these two scheme something behind her back?
"Grace, what in the world—"
"What do you mean, Emi? Didn't I message you last night that I found the best personal assistant?" Grace innocently said.
Emi recalled that Grace did brag about that, but she didn't say who it was.
"Yeah but—"
"It was JD. He volunteered and he's doing it for free." Grace explained with a big smile as if to reassure her that this was the best plan of action. While Emi was having a difficult time registering what she just said.
He volunteered? Dylan did? And for free? Does this guy think that senior year's a joke that he got this much free time in his hands? What is seriously going on?
"How—"
"Good morning, guys! Good morning, JD!" Emi couldn't find the words to express her outburst as each other member that arrived greeted Dylan as if he completely blended in with the group.
They were totally chill about him being there while Emi could barely even believe it.
Was she the only one left in the dark about all of this? She hates getting pulled into surprises like these because she couldn't mask her honest expressions of mouth slightly ajar and eyes rolling in disbelief.
"Emi! What's taking you so long? We got to leave now." Grace called out to Emi—through the small window— who was standing still like an idiot as everyone was already inside the grey mini van except Dylan and her.
"You wait, Grace Anne. I'm first gonna talk with this guy then you." Emi's tone was fierce for she's calling Grace by her entire given name, as if ready for a slaughter.
She dragged Dylan by the ear, a few metres away from them, because she needed a good word with him.
"Ahh..Emi..that hurts—" She let her hand go and immediately scowled at him even if he was a feet taller than her.
"Dylan, what kind of bullshit are you pulling? Are you seriously—"
"I just wanted to help, Emi." Emi was dubious with that. He wanted to help? Is he some saint that he'd want to lend a hand that badly?
"Help? We don't need your—"
"Grace said that you guys needed an extra pair of hands." He justified to which was true because they are open to any amount of assistance that they could get.
Especially with their equipment and other miscellaneous tasks since they needed to shoot a good teaser for their film today so that their professor will give them the instant go signal to continue on with the lengthy production phase.
