Lauren's POV
"Happy birthday to yooooou" My friends and family sang as I blew out the candles on my cake. Wow. I'm finally 13. I'm officially a teenager. But most importantly, this summer I'll finally be able to try out for The X Factor!
I've always loved singing, and I've loved Demi Lovato since Disney, so what better chance is there to make it big time than this one?
I just hope things work out and I'll make it to bootcamp...
**3 months later**
"Lauren Daniels?"
"Yes, that's me" I replied.
"It's time for you to go on stage" the woman said.
I nodded vigorously as I hugged my mom and best friend, Julia. I don't think I've ever been so nervous in my life. I think I'm starting to sweat.
I finally reached the side of the stage as a man in his thirties was up on stage rapping. Talk about unexpected.
I started to go over the song I'm planning to sing in my head, and just as I reached the second verse, the man stopped. I looked up to see Simon holding up his hand. This can't be good.
"I hated it" he said monotonously. What? That guy was really good! What 30-year-old rapper do you know that is better than him? I don't think Simon's on his good side today.
"Well, I think it was awesome. I mean, there aren't many rappers your age these days and you definitely know the right definition of it" I heard Demi say. Phew!
Next thing I knew, I was being pushed onto the stage. When I saw the crowd and the four judges in front of me, I couldn't help but let out a huge grin. And I would be lying if I said I've smiled bigger before.
"Hi, what's your name sweetie?" Demi said while smiling. At least she calmed down my nerves a bit.
"Lauren Daniels" I replied
"And, how old are you, Lauren?" Simon said in his epic accent.
"I just turned 13" I said as I heard some whispering in the crowd.
"Well, Lauren, I hope you've got a good voice because we haven't had many of those today" Simon said. And the acoustic piano started to play...
I can almost see it
That dream I'm dreamin' but
There's a voice inside my head sayin' you'll never reach it
Every step I'm takin'
Every move I make feels lost with no direction
My faith is shakin'
But I, I gotta keep tryin'
Gotta keep my head held high...
I got to the chorus and got lost in the song as I started to sing my heart out. Little did I know that the song was coming to the end. I softened my voice as I sang the last chorus and the crowd burst into applause.
I don't know if I was dreaming or not but I think I even saw the judges clapping! I don't think I've ever been so happy in my life.
I got back to center stage, eagerly waiting to hear what the judges had to say.
"Lauren, you said you were 13, right?" L.A. said.
"Yes" I replied, still catching my breath from that awesome moment.
"Well, I've known Miss Miley Cyrus for quite a while, and let me tell you that she wasn't nearly as good as you were when she was your age" he said.
I couldn't help but to smile even bigger than before, if that's even possible.
"I absolutely loved it. I definitely think you have The X Factor. Miley would be proud" Britney said. Did those words just come our of her mouth?
I don't know how many times I had to say thanks until it was time to vote.
"Yes" Demi said.
"Of course yes" Britney said.
"hmm let me think yes!" L.A. said. Haha he's funny.
"Yes" Simon said dramatically.
Wait....I just got four yes'! Oh my god! I'm going to bootcamp!
