— intro

The first day of college, August 25, it's warm and  starting to smell like autumn. The trees are not quite at the yellow, red and orange stage, but the green is slowly fading. Autumn, my favorite name, and my favorite season.
My feet, on the campus walkway, boxes in my hand and pure joy and excitement on my face. This is it, the start of a new life. A life entirely mine to make, I'm my own boss now, there's no mom and dad. I walk, slowly taking in the beauty of the campus. Trees, perfectly trimmed. Flowers, weeded and mulched. The grass, green, and something you'd see in a movie. And then I see her. Beautiful. More beautiful than the trees. More beautiful than the flowers. More beautiful than the grass. That beautiful, breathtaking woman.

"Her name is Molly." A deep voice says to me. I look to my right, a muscular man with brown hair and eyes looks at me. "Molly Taylor. She's from the country."
I look at him, waiting for him to finish the sentence, but he doesn't. "The country of what?" He laughs at me. I don't understand why it's funny.
"She's southern, a cute little country accent." It clicked what he meant then. I laugh.
"She's stunning." I say, my eyes not leaving Molly. Her chestnut brown hair drapes down her back, curling slightly at the end. Her eyes were most definitely difficult for some to see from such distance and angle, but I could easily see them. They were like drops of rain, grey and beautiful.
"She's here on scholarship, her parents are poor. I guess she's crazy artistic." He speaks, as if her being poor is something rare around here. His arm is out, in front of mine, "I'm Maximus Sellons, you can call me Max." I shake his hand firmly, "James Blake."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, James." He smirks, "and maybe you'll have a class or two with Molly." I laugh, secretly hoping what he said was true. He walks away, going left into the Greenfield Housing Center.
I arrive to my room to meet Jason Copperfield, my
roommate. Jason is a sophomore majoring in music business. He wants to own his own record company. My other roommate, Anthony Vera is a junior, he's majoring in art education. He shows me a collection of drawings, paintings, prints and pottery. All remarkable, and very unique.

Walking to my first class, public speaking, I only got lost twice. I was told it was in the West Greenfield Center, then the East Greenfield Center. As it turned out, it was in the Main Center, which I pass every day, it's right next to my housing area. I saw several students out by the door, talking, many of them seemed to be friends. I grew closer to the door, smiling at some of the people before walking inside.

The building looked small on outside, but it was huge! There is a beautiful grand staircase that leads to a second floor with more classrooms, and the building is kept clean and well decorated. On the walls,  posters of encouragement and a painted mural of our mascot, a hedgehog. At the top of each door there is a sign labeling the class number, and the teacher. I found public speaking, room 340.

Inside the classroom were several chairs, and a podium. My professor, Ms Maverick, is short and has blonde hair that is cropped to her shoulders. She's quite young for a professor, but I've heard she's extremely intelligent. We're given assigned seats, only temporarily, Professor Maverick wants us to get to know at least one person. It was then that I saw Molly. She's wearing denim mini skirt and a little yellow camisole, with lace at the top. I cross my fingers that I would be seated beside her. "Jane Wentz, you're beside Molly Taylor. And James Blake, you're beside Jane." I smile. Sitting one seat down is close enough. Class continues, we're introduced to the course and then we leave.

My day carries on, introductions to each class, then I head back to my room, telling Jason and Anthony all about how I'm close to Molly. They laugh. "Dude, you're never going to get to even speak with her, she's out of your league for sure." Jason looked at me, then Anthony, "I don't know Tony, he's not ugly. He has muscles, and his hairs pretty. I'd date him." Well, I took that as a compliment. Jason smiles at me, "hey, you know, Jane is pretty nice too. She's funny and last year, she went to prom with Adam Grey, he was a senior football star, totally dreamy." Me and Anthony laugh.

The night ended with us watching a horror movie in the housing center's theater, Jason was sitting beside Max, they seemed really comfortable together. I asked Anthony, "oh, Jason's got a thing for Max. Max isn't aware, he's kind of slow when it comes to that stuff." So, Jason liked Max. I decided to make it my mission to get them together. I knew just how to do it.
