It was mid October, our school was having a homecoming dance, and our annual football game. Like highschool, only most of us drank. Jane suggested I ask Molly. She gave me tips, and when we got to Public Speaking, I sat across from her, smiling. She smiled back. I looked at her eyes, the beauty of a storm flashing before mine. She laughed, "can I help you, James?" It was the way she had said James, slowly enunciating each letter of my name. Her southern accent made everything about her even better. She used "yall," a lot too. It was her favorite. I began to talk to her, casually. I asked her what she's passionate about, "writing, it's my major. I'd like to be an author one day." Little had she known that I was writing letters to her. "what do you want to write about?" She smiled, pulling out a small journal. "Romance, adventure, anything really." I smiled. "I can help you write a romantic adventurous novel, if you'd like," I said, taking my shot. She smiled, "and how are you going to do that, James?" I decided to take my chance, after all I just had a conversation with her, "Well, I'll take you on a date, like they do in movies. And then we can maybe go on a fun adventure, like anywhere!" She laughed, "I'd like that."

Dear Molly,

You agreed to go on a date with me. Somehow I managed to score you, although we hadn't been yet. I guess I won when I told you I'd help you write the novel, by bringing you on a date. Molly, this is going to be the most exciting and nerve racking night of my entire life, and it's only the beginning.

James.

The night of homecoming flew by quickly, I showed up to Molly and Jane's dorm ten minutes before the dance would begin. Jane answered, she was wearing a long black dress, that fit her figure perfectly. Her hair was up, a small tiara in her hair, and satin black gloves that went up her arms. Alexander almost fell at the sight of her, hell I almost fell at the site of her. She was Holly Golightly, she was breakfast at Tiffany's, she was Audrey, and she was stunning. Molly came out of her bedroom shortly after, my God she just took my breath away. There wasn't anyone else I wanted to look at. Her dress was simple, but still sophisticated and elegant. It was a dark purple, her accessories matching the dress perfectly, and a small gold necklace caught my eye. The way it sat perfectly on her neck, something I never seen her wear before. Her hair was curled at the ends, and each curl was perfectly resting against her back. I was in love, and although this was our first day, I knew it from the moment I saw her.

Our homecoming started as would any, the DJ thanked us all for coming out, and explained this was going to be a fun, safe night. He then started us off with dancing queen, a classic. Jane and Molly rushed onto the dance floor, demanding this is their song. Alexander and I watched them from the side, as they danced so perfectly. Jane and Alexander danced all night, while I learned from Molly. She patiently taught me dance moves, laughing only sometimes. I was good at sports, and writing, and school. But I swore on my grave, dancing was my enemy, and oppositely, it was Molly's friend.

We talked all night, and I soon knew everything about her. It was simple, she came from a small town, her father owned a farm. He had no money for her to possibly be in college, yet here she was. He sold his farm so her dreams could come true, she was a giver, and an amazing friend. I too shared my life. I shared how I was fortunate to have parents who paid for my college, although it made me feel guilty. I told her how my father was a  wealthy business man, and my mother a designer. She said her parents were wealthy too, but her town has a different definition of wealthy. Regardless, she was way too good for me.

The night went on, and I didn't mind. I actually hated when it ended. Jane got sick, and Alexander took her home. I ended up having to end my night with Molly, she was worried and wanted to be there for Jane.
Alexander told me how he swore Jane was the love of his life, I smiled and let him know that as Jane's best friend, I wouldn't want anyone other than him to be with her. He thanked me. I waited for my roommates to fall asleep, then pulled out my book and wrote Molly a letter.

Dear Molly,
Tonight was one of the best nights of my entire life. I learned about your simple, extraordinary life. I learned about how you never took anything for granted, and although you never had a lot, you gave what you had every possible chance. Molly, I learned that you're far more beautiful inside than outside, which seems humanly impossible because you are the most beautiful thing outside too. I learned that you're a dancer, and so perfectly good at it. You're patient, and kind. And I'm crazy about you.

James.
