When Kurt picked up me, my sister, and my auntie in his car, the first thought to cross my mind was 'Whoa, a Porsche'. I know, how inappropriate, but it was a lifesaver. If it wasn't for him randomly turning on his radio that day, we'd all be dead now for sure, one way or another. We'd been surviving on the streets after the town was swarmed by the infected. We were starving, tired, and ready to give up. It was only by chance we stumbled across an abandoned police car, unfortunately for us out of fuel, and managed to get in touch with everybody.

Kurt drove us to Owain's, where we all stayed for a while, living on a knife edge, just waiting for something to happen. While it was terrifying for all of us, being safely inside and together made it easier. We didn't argue over petty things like you'd expect five strangers thrown together would. We got on well, helped each other through this difficult time, working together to survive. Thank goodness for Owain's forward thinking, who knew the crazy, geeky, zombie enthusiast would be right?

Then yesterday, the gunshots came.

Part of me was relieved, because it was so obvious the government wasn't going to let things go on the way they were forever. We knew this virus was only infecting people in this town, so we knew some action had to be taken. At least it wasn't a bomb!

Obviously they need this thing to be kept hidden, whatever it is.

We all dropped to the floor, trying to hide from stray bullets, whilst trying to decide what our next move should be. One thing we all realised was that we couldn't stay put. It was pretty obvious that they weren't going to leave any survivors.

So we left.

It took a lot of planning, a lot of organizing to get there, but we made it. We managed to get past the roadblocks now that they're no longer being manned, and we're out. We haven't made it much further, but it's better than being inside there. We went on foot, knowing the Porsche was a bad idea, and it was extremely treacherous.

We have a tent, a roaring fire, and weapons. Owain is going to teach us to use them properly because we may need to defend ourselves from a number of threats at some point. Our little group which has come such a long way. At least I'm not alone; at least I'm with friends.

Now, we just need to wait.

Wait for the military to leave.

Wait for the infection to burn itself out.

Wait for an escape.
