Eastern Conference, Royal York Hotel
The good news is that Sebby, Nech, Svech and I were all able to track down who hacked the account. The bad news is that it was someone I know... When I spun around to see that Brett Howden, Libor Hajek and Kaapo Kakko had followed me to the meeting with the Hurricanes, I was scared that they wouldn't be too thrilled about it.
"What good is it to beat up Cane players away from the ice just because they're a rival?" Kakko insisted. "It won't look good."
And he's right. It won't. Plus, if they knew what I knew, they'd want to help them out.
Libor frowned, folding his arms. "How do we know this isn't some ploy?"
"It's not, trust me it's not!" I'm not sure how much my word will hold up.
Sebby came forward. "Please, you're already here, you might as well know everything." He sighed and looked back to Svech and Nech.
They nodded at him and he turned back around.
"Someone, I don't know who, hacked our social media. They've been posting explicit content all over and know one can figure out how to stop it. I guess we can use any and all help that we can muster."
"We'd be happy to help out! Y'all have any more knowledge?" Brett exclaimed, rubbing his hands together. "I'm all for putting an end to stupid shenanigans."
Sebby shook his head.
"I'm going to run up to the room and grab my phone," Kakko remarked.
I watched him walk off from us. I can see the elevator going up in the distance and ending at our floor.
"So, someone's gained access to the Canes' social media account?" Libor questioned to himself.
Kakko returned in no time, holding his phone and looking spooked. He kept glancing back over his shoulder. I cocked an eyebrow at him. What's wrong with him? He came up to me and whispered, "I know who's doing it."
I looked at him and blurted out, "WHAT?!"
Kakko faced everyone and ended up focusing on Sebby as he said, "I went up to grab phone. I walk past open door. Inside is Lemi and Lindy. They sit at computer, laughing and I hear Lindy go 'You should post a naked screenshot of your penis and post it on their twitter.' I snatch phone and hurry back down here."
Of course. Why am I not surprised it's either of them?
Sebby looked hurt. He glanced my way and then nodded. "Thank you."
Kakko managed a smile.
Libor cracked his neck and knuckles. "I'll go speak to them. And you KNOW what I mean by SPEAK." He stormed off to the elevators.
I'm not going to draw conclusions, but I'm pretty sure he beat the fuck out of Lemi and then told coach Quinn about the incident. Lindgren wasn't punished, but I know they got one hell of a scolding.
It just felt really good to help the Canes out. They don't need to be in that kind of a mental state for the first game. I want a fair matchup, nothing easy, because the harder and fairer the matchup the more I will learn.
So, we found the perpetrator responsible and now it time to set our sights on game one of our series against the Carolina Hurricanes.
The first period starts out with some high paced action back and forth. Suddenly, I see Brady Skjei zoom across the ice, going after Quickie. Quickie falls to the ice from the monstrous hit and Artemi goes after our ex-defenseman.
