Chapter 5

Cahira and the others hoped on the smaller boat,their bags in tow.

"So,where is this camp of yours?"Ceto asked,glancing to the water"not far,just south."Chris informed.

Ceto nodded and took control of the boat,going south"you really know your directions huh?"Jewel mumbled.

Ceto smiled softly"it's a talent of mine,it made me useful."Cahira nodded"you were definitely one of our best sailors."she complimented making Veto blush"thanks 'hira."

Cahira had left her captain's hat on the boat letting her hair down,it was a deep red in wavey curls that complimented her features.

Mel stared at the ship nervously then back to the others"hey,you good Mel?"Mel nodded"y-yeah,I'll just miss the ship."

"Why were you on the ship anyways?"Jewel asked,Mel chuckled nervously"my job flopped I guess."Jewel smiled softly"well it seems you are good friends with Ceto and Cahira."

Mel shrugged"I just followed orders,nothing special."Jewel hummed"well,we're your friends at least."Mel smiled softly"thanks,Jewel."

It had been a few hours when they docked,the group got off the boat and headed to the forest.

Ceto stared at the water before following that's a bit strange. Chris thought as they continued through the trees.

They soon found berry bushes with only a few left"we shouldn't be that far."Jewel said as they continued,completely silent.

They then came to the camp,sitting and talking were Xander and some guy.

Chris ran over and got between them"hey hold up,who the fuck are you!?"he growled at the newcomer,Xander groaned"that's Soren,he's a friend Chris."

Soren nodded"sorry for not introducing myself but I don't have that many places to go!"Jewel glared at him"then why were you so close to Xander,are you a spy that's trying to get through us?"

Xander and Soren blushed"it's a long story but Soren isn't a spy,he saved me!"Xander said standing up with Soren,Chris and Jewel looked at Soren like parents to their daughter's new boyfriend.which was kinda the case.

"Oh,you guys are back!"Molly walked in"and with new friend-"she paused and stared at Mel,Mel's expression brightened"Molly!?"Molly fam over"oh my god,Mel is that you!?"

Chris and Jewel gave each other a"What is going on"look as Xander walked over"so you're the famous,Mel!"he said.

Mel gave him a shy smile"I didn't know Molly talked about me."Cahira splitted everyone up"hold up,hold up.can we get context on the relationship between you two?"

Moly smiled"well when I worked at the circus Mel was my friend,though I didn't know you became a pirate!you look awesome!"Mel blushed"thanks."

Chris looked to Xander"and how did Soren save you?"Xander chuckled awkwardly"I was almost kidnapped."Soren looked to the ground"it was nothing."Xander gaped"excuse you,you saved me from Victoria!"

Once everyone had settled down Soren pulled Xander to the side"are we going to tell Chris and Jewel about this?"he gestured to both Xander then himself.

"I don't know how they'll react,either way they need to take a break.not to get sucked up in a romantic side plot."Soren sighed"but what about-"

Xander kissed his cheek to shut him up,Soren froze"you know what?good plan,great plan!"Xander giggled"you're so easy to play with."

Soren held Xander's hand"it's because I love you~."he purred,Xander chuckled"hey,not now ok?"Soren sighed"fine."they then joined the group again,making sure they stopped holding hands.
