HOLDING the wallet in one hand, Becca grasps the mobile phone in the other. She stepped back as more people ride in the elevator. Conversation about work is still hear inside.
It is time for lunch and most of the employees were on their way out of the office. Almost half of the employees in the office building eat at the cafeteria in the second floor.
Becca was having a conversation with a fellow employee when she felt eyes on her. She glanced around as her colleague continue speaking.
Two tables from hers sat the big boss. Her arms were crossed at the middle. The older woman looked away when their eyes met. Frown painted in her face though.
Becca noticed that no one seems to give attention to the big boss of the company. No one mind her as if she is a nobody. Perks of not posting her picture on her biography. Mirabella Doue attained privacy in its finest.
"That's Miss Doue, right?"
"What?"
Becca turned her attention to the woman she shared the table with. Her name is Angela. The woman offered her table when she was looking for a seat a while ago.
"Miss Doue is waiting in line."
She found Janessa in the register. She is already paying for the food. Her eyes followed the younger boss until she sat at the same table with the big boss.
"Is that her sister?"
"Maybe."
Becca finished her drink and excused herself from Angela. She threw the garbage and put the tray on top of the others beside the garbage bin.
She made her way to the elevator and pressed the floor number of her office.
It was three days ago since the first time she met Miss Mirabella Doue. Suffice it to say, the moon goddess blessed her with a second mate. This time it is a woman.
Remus was her first mate. She and Remus learned about it when they met again at the hill eight years ago.
She was surprised knowing that her childhood friend and alpha was her mate. Clearly, the knowledge came as a surprise to him also. However, what came next was an even bigger surprise.
The sound of the door opening stopped her memory from flooding her mind. With a heavy heart, she alight from the elevator and made her way to the confinement of her own office.
The first thing that Becca noticed when she reached her table was the yellow post-it on top of the laptop.
Meet me at the conference
room after lunch.

Lucy is having a happy dance in her head.
When Becca recognized that Mira is her second chance mate, Lucy was having a party at the back of her mind. Her wolf is very happy that the goddess give them a second shot at happiness.
It was mind blowing the second mate the goddess gave them is a woman.
Lucy fell in love at first sight when she saw Mira at the conference room. Her wolf never question the choice of the moon goddess for their second mate.
It came as a surprised for Becca that her wolf immediately accepted their second mate. Knowing Lucy as vain and half the time a proud primadonna, it was indeed a startling behavior for her wolf to quickly accept the gender of their new mate.
If not for the great reign of Becca to her wolf, Lucy would have shown herself to their mate the first time they met.
'Go and freshin' up. Our mate is waiting.'
'Can you be more calm, Lucy?'
'Oh, please. I've been waiting for this to happen.'
'What do you mean?'
'Mira is our second chance at happiness. Don't let her go this time, human.'
'Why are you so accepting, Lucy? Why didn't you question that our mate is a woman?'
'Duh. You're the only one who's in denial, Becca.'
She could imagine her wolf rolling her eyes at her before retreating to the back of her mind.
She followed the advice of her wolf. She went to the washroom and check her appearance.
She comb her bob styled hair with her fingers. She tried to removed the creases of the powder blue long sleeved polo shirt that she is wearing. She folded the sleeves a few inches from the wrist. It showed the snout of the wolf inked in her skin.
As the employees returned to their respected offices, Becca used the fire exit to reach the floor above.
No one was in the hallway since this floor only holds two private offices, a conference room and a show room.
Becca did not bother to knock. She pushed the glass door and make her way inside.
The big boss is already there and comfortably sitting in a chair. Her blue eyes were on Becca's the moment she step inside.
"Good afternoon, Ms. Doue."
The white haired woman nodded at her before motioning at the chair in front of her.
"Do you know who I am?"
That was the first statement that she received the moment she sat up.
Becca glance at her boss before shaking her head.
"Aside from being my boss, I don't know anything about you."
"From what pack do you belong, Miss Jackman?"
She stared at the woman in shock. She was answered by a reprimanded look similar to a teacher guarding detention.
Becca cleared her throat to compose herself. She take a deep sigh.
"I was part of the Cloudless Moon Pack." She responds after a while.
"How's Luke?"
Puzzled, she leaned on her chair and fixed her eyes on her.
"I knew of the existence of the werewolves. I'm not as naive as my niece. Besides, not everything you see is what it seems."
She nodded in agreement. "Why am I here?"
"I just want to know if you're a liability in my company."
"What's the verdict?"
"We'll see."
Becca take a deep breath before standing up. Like always, Mira's eyes were following her movement.
"I should go. Work is waiting."
She moved towards the door.
"One more thing, Ms. Jackman." She stopped when she reached the door. "You know what to do if you don't want that woman to lose her job."
She did not respond. She left the conference room. Lucy however is doing a happy dance like a man on cocaine.
