The debris was spread all over, covering what was left of the ground. I pushed through the clutter, looking for the source of the noise. But the sun was making it hard for me, I don't do well with heat and too much light. It was blinding me and I was convinced I couldn't do this anymore when I found what I was looking for. It was blue and round. The noise continued, and finally I achieved relief when I pushed a button on what I was holding. There was complete silence.
Except for the chirping birds. And the usual, "You better move now young lady or you will be late!" voice from afar. Afar meaning, downstairs.
Yes, I was used to this. I looked around, and finally I could feel my brain functioning little by little. Yes, definitely normal. All the things I left last night remained at their positions.
Suddenly my door was flung open and my mom appeared before me. She saw the awful sight, and sighed. She said, "If you don't clean your room today after school you will be grounded."
I didn't move. Instead I remained sitting on the ground and nodded. She left after she told me to hurry up.
Yup.
My room is the center of battles and wars. It was messy and not--not clean. (Wut?)
But frankly, I'm quite proud of it. I was still smiling smugly when I realized this was THE day. Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God! I can't wait!
Quickly standing up and nearly tripping on my way to the bathroom I thought of what I should wear. I. AM. SO. EXCITED.
In nearly five minutes I was already in front of my closet, if you could call it one since it's err--covered--with photos and what-not. I was never much of a hygiene natzi. I could always wash up quick and be content with what I look like. Anyway I wasn't prone to intense sweating or any kind of body odor. Hmm, what to choose? My mind was battling between two options: the forrest green sweater or the sky blue one? His eyes are blue... Sooo I picked the green one. Haha, I'm so smart! Thinking that if I always chose what was related to him, I would appear as a crazed stalker and no, I don't want that to happen. Not that constantly gazing at him from afar or sneaking around the office to "borrow" his schedule (which is for safety purposes, so I could save him from assasinations or the apocalypse, you never know when accidents happen) is considered STALKING. Right?
After I finished up and laced up my sneakers, I grabbed my bag and went for the the stairs. Although my room is considered as the next set location of the Walking Dead, the dining room is the complete opposite. Filled with this aroma I couldn't decipher, it was a sight to behold with the splendid varieties of food—namely.....DANDARARAAAN!
...nothing.
As always, the table holds not a single dish. My mom was still busy in the kitchen trying, keyword “trying”, to make us food. Ah yes, now I could make out the aroma I smelled a while ago. And boy, it was smokin’. Literally.
Walking directly to mom, I quickly turned off the stove and coughed. Whirling to face my mom, I saw her face of shock and, well, face of a soldier with her now transformed black-smudged face. We were still staring at each other and my chest was heaving up and down when her face fell into defeat.
“I thought I could try again.” She said in a small voice.
I smiled, “Don’t worry mom. It’s fine.”
And then she looked at me and smiled too.
I laughed, “Besides, I’m so used to this. It’s not like we go a day without you smelling like smoke and the kitchen barely surviving the disastrous calamity.”
She scowled and shooed me away to clean up. I picked up the chicken leftover from last night and heated it at the microwave. Then the two bothers of mine came into the kitchen with their usual rowdiness. Yes, I call them “bothers”. Simply because there wasn’t a time that they didn’t try to annoy me. Also because they don’t help at all with my life. They don’t support my unconditional love for Jace(they make fun of it actually), they like screwing up my homeworks and frequently using the term “Mental Escapee” against me. I am not a mental escapee! I just couldn’t help sniffing books and magazines because I’m addicted to them. They said that wasn’t that though, it was my expression of “complete pleasure and crazy grin” I happened to be making when doing that.
Ark smirked at me when he saw me with my usual glare. “Hey sis, morning.”
I grunted and looked away. I was not in the mood for their antics especially with this day. This is it. The first day of my senior year. The day I would start making him see me. He will be looking my way and notice. I stared determinedly and smirked.
Yes, this boy will notice me.
“Geez, sis, it’s early in the morning and you’re all ready to go to the shrink. Don’t be excited, okay? The mental institute will always be there for you and I know they’ll accept you with no questions asked.” Mason said.
I huffed and narrowed my eyes at them. “Shut up, Bo. We all know fully well you’ve already graduated there and got hundreds of awards. Most Retarded, King of the Airheads, Best Peanut Brain...”
He scowled at that and made way for the microwave.
I call them “Bo.” Short for bothers. See my pun there? Instead of bro I used—no? Yeah okay.
The eldest son is Mason. He’s really tall, standing at 6’6. He’s also in no way responsible. He forgets the simplest things. But even in his state, girls somehow are attracted to him. Maybe because of his looks—which I admit are very good. Huh. What can I say? We come from a family of oozing hotness and beauty. My mom could prove that with her skills at cooking. He’s blonde and has mom’s hazel eyes. Ark’s pretty much the same, with his blonde hair and hazel eyes but he stands at 6’4 and just graduated last year at my school. He’s fun and loves parties but is somehow more dependable than Mason.
I, on the other hand, have dad’s blonde hair and his moss green eyes. I’m his spitting image except that I’m a girl. You could say that I’m a daddy’s girl. I miss him too. He’s been on a convention for his work for already two weeks and he’ll be back next week. I can’t wait for that. But for now, I can’t wait for today.
Because I, Serena Hale, self-proclaimed ninja with the fastest food snatching skills, am going to make a certain boy notice me for good.
Cue my wicked witch laugh.

A/N
That was pretty short but I promise I'd make them longer. Anyway school is, as usual, taking away my social life from me. Meaning, wattpad and twitter and tumblr and all those things. I hope you enjoyed it though!
Laters, "bo's"! :3 (that sounded so corny I can't even)
