Chapter 1

It was after the battle with Gaea when Percy found out what had actually happened to all of his friends, the 7, gone, never to be seen again, dead.

*Flashback*

Percy was racing across the battlefield to help out fellow half-bloods get to the infirmary, fight monsters, and carry out the goners, when he heard a scream. It wasn't just any scream, it was the scream of his Wisegirl. Within 5 seconds after that, he had run across the battlefield to find her crushed up against 2 rocks, her neck badly out of place. At that point of time his only thought was, 'Gaea had killed her...... Gaea had killed his Wisegirl and she was going to pay.' The rest of the battle was a blur to Percy. All he could see was red and the only other person there was Queen Dirt face herself, Gaea. Using abilities he never knew he had, he quickly disarmed her, and used her own domains to kill her, suffocating her then spreading her ashes so far and thin that she would never be able to reform, or wake from her slumber.
    Now you might be thinking, 'How did Percy kill Gaea with the earth, isn't that her own domain?' Well, they had all forgotten that 71% of the earth is water, meaning that Percy can control 71% of the earth.
    Once the last of the monsters were gone, Percy went to the infirmary to find out the casualties and losses. He walked in to see way too many people covered in the white cloths that were used to tell people who were gone. The next thing he noticed was, Apollo kids rushing around, tending to those who needed it, and comforting those who lost their friends, or siblings. Right then he realized that he needed numbers and the names of those who have died. So, he went to one of his friends, and head counselor of the Apollo cabin, Will Solace. 
    501 casualties. 501 times where Percy felt like he had failed to protect those in need. there were 375 deaths in total. Of these, 115 were Roman, and 260 were Greek. Most of those were people who Percy knew, and cared deeply about. The worst part was when Will Solace had to tell Percy that Leo, Hazel, Frank, Piper, and Jason were gone. Leo had drowned to death, Hazel and Frank were skewered together with a spear that was Octavian's, Piper was shot in the heart, and Jason was catapulted from the sky, to the earth at over 200 miles/ 1hr. After hearing all of this Percy was never quite himself again. He had locked himself in his cabin for days before deciding to go home and tell his Mom and step-dad Paul that he was fine.
