THE ONLY SOUND YOUNG ELIZABETH CASTLE COULD HEAR OVER THE WAILING SIRENS WAS HER OWN FAIDING HEARTBEAT. Her brain didn't register the pain of the bullet holes that were forming a river of red on the cement below her nor the scrapes and bruises painting her olive skin various shades of black and blue. She just stared at the looming sky above that held the glittering stars she was waiting to join.

Thump thump thump

She ignored the agents that where panicking over her relaxing body telling her that it wasn't her time yet. That she couldn't sleep. But why? She thought to herself in a sleepy haze. Her eyelids felt as if they were trying to hold up the world.

Thump thump thump thump

Elizabeth focused on the sky again, she tried to think of the constellations her father taught her when she was a little girl ─ the same stories she taught her younger sister, it was almost as if the starts were a mantel passed down. But the girl furrowed her brows, where was Oakley?

Thumpthumpthumpthump

Her heartbeat quickened as her scattered thoughts went to her little sister.
Panic set in.

The Castle girl tried to sit up and turn her head to see if Oakley was near her. Surely she got out right?

The stars twinkle in the misty sky, temporarily forgotten as warm hands try to sooth Elizabeth back down onto the ground, "The medics will be here any second Elizabeth." The young agent's voice was almost comforting, if she wasn't looking for her sister. The agent held his hands to her shoulder as another held the wound on her stomach, trying to keep her from become a star like her father.

The teenager tried to open her mouth and speak, but the only thing that came out was a raspy wheeze. A warm hush fell from the young man that hovered over her like a guardian angel.

Elizabeth tried again, "O-Oak.." her voice was barely sand paper, it sounded like someone shoved a plastic bag down her throat and told her to speak. Why was it so hard to speak, dammit!?

The man that held her shoulder seemed to figure out what she was trying to say, "Oakley is safe, she is with another agent. She is okay."

All the tension that Elizabeth had stored in her small self faded. Her baby sister was safe.
Safe. Safe. Safe.

Thump thump

Elizabeth looked up at the agent and smiled softly, she looked to the stars once more. The sirens were louder now, the medics were here. Was it okay for her to let go?

The stars were calling for her with the voice of her father.

Thump thump

Elizabeth Castle didn't notice the hands that gracefully lifted her up on the waiting stretcher nor did she see the young agent joining her in the back.

Everything was going fuzzy.

She could hear the agent's plead for her to hold on. But the star's call was so tempting. But would she be leaving Oakley alone in a cruel world, the one that stole away their mother's sanity?

Thump

Then she saw him.

A man hovered over her, though not the young agent that had her blood on his hands. It was a man in a black suit with shadows for eyes, though they were not scary or angry ─ but soft and kind.
He reached out a hand for her to take.

Thump.

His voice was a whisper on the wind, "It's time Marie-Elizabeth."

Thump.

She almost took his hand. But stopped and remembered her baby sister. Who would take care of Oakley?

Thump.

What about her future? One were she spends her life saving people from people like her mother? Her dream of a life with someone? She did have something to live for.

The agent was right. It wasn't her time.

Elizabeth looked up at the kind eyes of death and smiled softly, "Not today."

And then the stars fell silent.

Oh, Death
Won't you spare me over 'til another year?

well I can't write dramatic scenes.

Hello and welcome to my obsession with Dr. Spencer Reid.

I have been "planning" (daydreaming) about this book for awhile and I hope I'll actually have the motivation to update this one unlike my other ones.
Oops.
My motivation sucks ass.
Ta-ta for now
