Kevin hesitantly entered Shivaay's cabin.
Shivaay had just finished the last sip of the coffee and he already craved for more. Turning to his assistant, he schooled his features into a neutral expression. Asking outright for the coffee maker didn't sound good, so he decided to ask a few inconsequential questions before.
"Where's Omkaara?"
"Sir had to take Reyaansh out for some project. He'll come back in an hour or two."
Giving an absentminded nod, he enquired again, "The finance department has been shifted properly?"
"Yes sir. Ms. Johnson handed an apology letter as well."
"Smart choice," he mused before continuing, "Store it in her file."
"Yes sir. Right away, sir" Kevin said before turning to get back to work.
"Kevin?" Shivaay stopped him hurriedly as he wondered how to get the coffee shop address from him. 'You're Shivaay Singh Oberoi. You don't ask for stuff, you order it.' An arrogant voice in his mind reminded him.
"What coffee shop did you order this from?" He asked in a relatively strong voice, as he pointed to the cup on his table.
"Do you want another one, sir? I'll just order it from the nearest Starbucks." Kevin said as he moved to make the phone call.
"NO!" Shivaay yelled out as he saw his plan going in vain. Why was his assistant using all his brain today? Could he not answer in a sentence where the damned branch was?
Kevin looked at his boss with confusion. First, he was smiling, now he is angry. Was his boss on his man period? These mood swings were giving him a whiplash.
Shivaay's guilty conscience saw accusations in his assistant's gaze and he quickly made a reason, "The coffee was creamy. Did you not order it cream free?"
"What!? Sir, I swear I ordered a no cream, no sugar, no milk coffee like you always want. The coffee maker must've made a mistake. I'll just get them fired sir. Right away, sir." Kevin fumbled with the office phone as sweat started trickling down his forehead. SSO was in a bad mood anyway, he'd lose his job if he didn't act fast.
Shivaay panicked. Before his brain could tell him otherwise, he grabbed the phone out of Kevin's hands and slammed it on the ground. Kevin stood shell shocked and scared for his life. He was sure that he would kiss his livelihood goodbye today.
"Wo-ah... Actually, I was going on that lane for some work. So, I'll take care of it. You just give me the address." Shivaay stuttered as he combed his hair in nervousness.
"But sir, you have a meeting in the office in twenty minutes and that lane is two hours aw-" Kevin stopped his words when he saw his boss giving him the glare. The glare that made him want to dig a hole to hell and hide behind Satan, even if he was sure that Satan would be sacred of the look himself.
"Don't tell me what to do. As a matter of fact, cancel all my meetings for the day. I've got some work."
"Work? What work?" Kevin slipped out before he could hold his tongue. He bit his tongue as he prayed for God to save him from the Satan on Earth.
"What I do with my time," Shivaay started in a voice that could freeze hell over, "is none of your business. Do what I pay you to, and follow my orders. Got it?"
Kevin nodded as his body started to shake with fear. Shivaay looked at him questioningly and he stuttered the address of the shop but pleadingly added, "But sir.."
