Noah's POV

Eighteen years old and still no soulmate in sight. It's difficult to live in a world in which you are supposed to find that one special person just by the help of a mark. The mark being there, where you apperentlynare to touch them for the first time, turning colourful once you do so. My mark is a handprint over my heart, having me really curious as to what's going to happen.

Like every wednesday evening, I walked to the youth group I'm part of since I've been twelve. Together we do many cool things, like go camping, plan projects or just play games. When I walked into the room, I immediately spotted my good friends Selma and Lukas. I greeted them with a hug and sat down next to them. Looking around the circle, I saw all the usual people, but also noticed a new face. A boy around my age, maybe one or two years older, sitting a few seats to my right. His park prominent on his right hand, still not colourful, though. Finding out later on that his name is Tobi.

As the weeks go by, I got more and more impatient. Most people find their soulmates before they even turn sixteen and I still haven't found mine at eighteen. A big suspect of mine is Tobi, since his mark would fit to mine perfectly, but obviously I can't be sure. I do find him very nice and attractive, though. His personality adding to mine like they were made for one another.

About a month after our first encounter it happened, though. Another wednesday evening and us having decided to do some trust exercises this week. First we started with some trust falls, everyone being able to do so, having fun along the way. Afterwards Lukas decided to have us others pair up to try something while he was going to talk us through. My first thought was obviously to do it with Selma, but she already had  another partner. So, I had to find myself someone else. Luckily Tobi came to ask me to do it together and I agreed.

Then Lukas told us to sit opposite of one another facing towards each other. After we did that, we had to place one of our hands over the others heart. I would have loved to actually know where this was going, but I couldn't continue the exercise. Tobi and I were sat there, reaching out our hands to meet each others chests. His placed on mine only a tad bit earlier than I had been able to reach his. Both of us jumping back after a second. Looking at one another shocked, realising what was happening. The palm of Tobi's hand slowly turning orange, some red andeven yellow mixing into it.

After what felt like hours - probably only having been about a minute or two, though - Tobi moved forward a bit to come closer to me. His hands moving to the hem of my shirt. Eyes meeting mine to ask for permission, me nodding slowly as an answer. Still speechless; the situation feeling way to unreal. Also not noticing that the others had stopped doing what they were doing to watch us.

Tobi's hands working on getting my shirt up, shaking fingers grasping the material, nerves on fire. That only beeing understandable as I was just as nervous. Once the piece fabric was up and over my chest and head, one could clearly see the bright purple and blue mark of a hand. Tobi's hand moving what seemed like on its own. Placing itself roght on top of my heart where the mark was. My soulmate's face expressing nothing but awe, mine probably not being much different.

"Noah!", I heard Tobi yelling. We were hanging out at his place, Selma and Lukas having joined us. Tobi was in the kitchen to get some more drinks and snacks, I and our friends staying in the living room. Talking until I was called to help Tobi. Standing up and going to the kitchen. When I arrived, I saw my boyfriend of three months struggling with some packets of crisps and two bottles of wine. Chuckling at how funny he looked. Then taking the bottles. Pressing a quick kiss to his soft lips.

Back in the living room we placed down the crisps and wine on the table. Immediately slipping back into the conversation that was still going. Tobi sitting down on the couch. I sat down next to him and pulled up my feet. Then leaning to the side and placing my head on my soulmates shoulder. His fingers slipping into my hair playing with it and calming me down. I closed my eyes, hearing the other three talk in the background. Slowly being lured into a light slumber.
