Said I need space, but—
I don'tneed space, I

Need you to come to me, like—

Why does the saying, "we only know what we had once it's gone," always seem to be the situation? Why, as human beings, can't we just realise the worth of something when it's in our hands? It's simple really. We're all greedy.

We want so much of something that we begin to neglect how we use it. Just as long as we get what we want, it's fine. But the minute there's nothing left of it, we regret not taking care of it properly and overindulging. That was the only conclusion Taehyung could come to.

He wanted Jungkook so much that he made sure Jungkook gave him all of his time, attention and love. But did he give that back to him? For the most part, yes, but leading up to Jungkook leaving, probably not. He took Jungkook for granted, taking what he needed and leaving the other high and dry.

What was the point of it all anyways? He knew Jungkook didn't like Sora. So why put himself in that position to hurt him? He knows he had no ill intentions, only keeping the girl company while she dealt with the death of her mother. They were always good friends, regardless of their failed relationship. But Taehyung knew, and he should've told Jungkook about seeing Sora instead of doing it behind his back.

Ever since the night Jungkook left their apartment six months ago, Taehyung has been in a great depression. He hardly eats, barely gets a good night of sleep and blocked himself from the outside world completely. The only person he talks to is Jungkook, even if he never ever gets a reply.

Taehyung tried really hard to give Jungkook the space he asked for, but going from seeing each other every single day to absolutely no communication wasn't something Taehyung knew how to cope with. So, he sent short messages everyday to Jungkook's number, hoping that one day the other will eventually reply. But for now, the blue ticks reassure him that Jungkook's at least acknowledging him and that's more than enough for now.

The lack of communication with basically everything and everyone has given Taehyung so much time to think, too much even. Now that doesn't necessarily mean that's a bad thing at all. It's just that now he's come to a definite conclusion.

He knows for sure that if Jungkook ever gives him a chance again he won't waste it. He's going to give Jungkook everything and more because this can't be the end of them, he won't let it be. He's so weak for the other that he knows when he finally calls he'll go running to the ends of the earth for his Jungkook. Anything to have him in his arms for the rest of his life.

Yeah, it's pretty clear he fucked up. Definitely lack of communication on his part, which is something he'll never let cause an issue ever again. They're going to be so honest with one another that it may hurt. But in the end, it'll ultimately strengthen them.

And so, for six whole months he's waited. Waited for Jungkook's call, waited to be reunited with the other half of his heart. And he'll continue waiting, he'll wait as long as he needs to because he knows he'll never stop loving Jungkook. Distance only makes the heart grow fonder, but he can't wait to shorten theirs and never let go again.

"Alright class! I have graded your mid-term papers." The class groaned in response to their teacher, none of them expected to get their papers back considering they wrote the test yesterday. "Now some of you will be really happy with your mark, while others may not. But regardless, there's still time to improve before finals in three weeks time."

You either frowned or smiled once the professor put your paper down in front of you. Luckily for Jungkook he curved his lips upward. They curved even more at the short comment his teacher left next to his 92%. Another spectacular mark Jungkook! Is what it read. Simple, but truly encouraging for Jungkook. And he needs this, he needs to smile and laugh but he's been finding it extremely difficult.

it's been like this ever since he left Seoul. Ever since he left Taehyung.

Jungkook still remembers how Taehyung begged him to stay, but he knew he couldn't. He had too many insecurities about them but mainly himself, and he knew he'd need to work on them first before him and Taehyung could be anything serious again.

And slowly, yet surely, he was getting there, ticking off one insecurity at a time. It was first his looks, which he managed to touch via the gym and the help of a very friendly senior, Park Jimin, who also happened to be Korean.

Then it was this feeling of guilt that he always carried with him. It was one that made him believe that everything was his fault. That Taehyung not spending time with him was his fault, that Taehyung not touching him was his fault, that their failed relationship was his fault. But it didn't fail, it was just on a hiatus.

Lastly, his jealousy, something he'd struggled with for many years. Dating Kim Taehyung was like dating a supermodel. Everyone loved him and everyone wanted a piece of him. Jungkook didn't like that. But everyday since he left, Taehyung sends him a message. It's always short in order to respect Jungkook's wish for space, but always sweet enough to melt Jungkook's heart. And it's those messages that taught Jungkook to trust Taehyung and realise how much that man loves him.

It's been six months since he left and there's only one thing that's remained the same. His love. Although his changed, in many ways, his love for Kim Taehyung has never once faltered.

And now finally, after six months, Jungkook is ready to open himself up to the idea of loving Taehyung again. Because now, he's learnt how to love himself.

A part of him really wants to call Taehyung and see him as soon as possible, but he knows if he does this he won't be able to focus on anything else but the other. He can't afford any distractions at this time, his full focus needs to be on passing finals. And once he's done that, he's getting his man back.
