I didn't think I would ever be walking into work in a skirt. Every job I have ever had required me in trousers. Walking in to work in a skirt especially after being at a meeting with my lawyer was something I had never planned to have dreamed of or especially do.
A kidnapping case had just come in and everyone was called in. Luckily I had just finished with the lawyers before I got the call. That's all I needed to look like a mom who put her career before her kid but that wasn't me. Hope always came first to me.
While getting changed Street comes over to me. "Hey, Hope's in the kitchen. Does she have anywhere to go?"
"Emm no Cortez said she can stay here while I'm working here until the custody battle is sorted and until I have someone to look after her."
"oh ok."
"Street thanks for looking after her."
"It's no problem. How's it going anyway?" That was the question that made me lose it. I don't remember what happens next but the next thing I knew I was on the floor crying my eyes out struggling to get the words out.
