In all honesty, getting a job at the Tokyo Police Department was to make him less bored. Since having an unlimited amount of money makes things less interesting very quickly and he was hoping to get some entertainment by working in the police.

Although it was looking to be another boring investment until Inspector Katou Haru arrived in his life. The man was the first person to not want his money, everyone else would start off not wanting his money but sooner or later they all gave in but not Haru, no he actually refused and insulted Daisuke whenever he brought up using his money.

It made him interesting and it seemed that his investment in the Tokyo Police wasn't a complete waste.

The problem was that Haru hated him and seemed to be determined to get rid of him. Luckily for Daisuke, the chief seemed to think that they would make the perfect pair so they were constantly put on cases together which mainly consisted of research hunting down the criminal, Daisuke using his money to solve whatever danger they had gotten themselves in and Haru yelling at Daisuke for using money.

It was getting tiresome so decided to try a different strategy instead of just try helping Haru on the case and hoping that they would get close. He decided to make an active effort on befriending Haru, bringing him coffee when it was clear that the inspector was tired, asking the others in the office on how they became friends with Haru, using HEUSC less when doing paperwork, etc.

About three months later, Daisuke asked Haru to dinner and although Haru was clearly sceptical of him, his partner agrees. Daisuke decided to have it at a less expensive restaurant, one where apparently the department when to for birthday or celebrations of a successful case.

The dinner was awkward at first but they quickly fell into casual conversation, "so what's up with you for the last few months  because I distinctly remember you not wanting to deal with and using your money to solve cases but suddenly you listen to me, bring me coffee and use your weird butler AI less" question Haru.

"It's not that weird Inspector, I just thought that since we were partners, I should be on your good side" answered Daisuke raising an eyebrow,

"On my good side huh" muttered Haru.

"I have my reasons, it's not my fault your oblivious to people emotions" replied Daisuke,

"says the guy he smirk when he left me fall off a bridge" snapped Haru,

"you survived didn't you" responded Daisuke,

"I-" Haru cut himself off and instead went back to eating his food, they have had this argument about the bridge incident many times and it seems like Haru was getting just as tired of it as Daisuke.

They finished the meal in silence and as Daisuke derived Haru home, they pick back up their casual conversation but this time Daisuke decided to slip in some flirting not that Haru notice.

That was until they arrived at the apartment complex, "you're flirting with me, why?" he questioned bluntly,

"Isn't  it obvious Haru, I like you" responded Daisuke,

"Why do you though?" retorted Haru turning to face him,

"you are one of the first people to actively be against me using money, the first to talk back to me, the first person be friends with me other than for money and not to mention you're good looks" stated Daisuke smirking at the raising blush on Haru face,

"well it's gonna take a lot more than a dinner and giving me coffee for your flirting to work" huffed Haru opening the car door,

"Your face says otherwise" replied Daisuke causing Haru to stutter as he slammed the car door and stormed away.

Rolling down the window, Daisuke called after him "Inspector keep in mind that I never back down from a challenge" which caused Haru to flip him off in response. Daisuke just laughed to himself as he drove away.
