We Already Know Each Other

Summary: Contrary to popular belief, Daisuke and Haru did not, in fact, hate each other. It's was quite the opposite considering they are married.

Much to the belief of everyone in his workplace, Haru did not, in fact, hate Daisuke. How could he? Daisuke was his husband, after all. Yes, shocking and because they had different last names, it was unbelieve.

There was a reason for that which was Haru hated the press and the gold diggers that always followed the Kambe. So, they agreed that when he was at his job, he would use his family name but everywhere else, he would use Kambe.

Though the fact that Daisuke let him fall off a bridge then a three days later shoot a missile that almost took off his head, combine that with all the yelling he did, it was no wonder people got the impression that they were enemies.

The only bright side to come from this belief was people's reaction when they find out. The modern crimes division were the first people to find out, and it was explosive.

"Kambe-san I need your help on something?" asked Kiyomizu,

"Which one asked?" asked Daisuke and Haru in unison, the entire department went silent, only to be broken by Haru,

"God fucking damn it" muttered Haru face-palming while Daisuke just sighed as the room exploded into questions,

"What do you mean by that cause if I remember only Daisuke is a Kambe?" questioned Kiyomizu even though it was clear on his face he suspected the answer,

"That is incorrect, Chief, as I assume you have realised by our response", replied Daisuke in a bored tone.

"But Haru doesn't seem like you cousin or anything?" questioned Kamei,

"Kamei, you are a detective think about it more, I have different last name yet I somehow also have the last name Kambe" replied Haru,

"You're married" exclaimed Saeki causing most of the department who hadn't figured it out to gasp in surprise,

"Correct" answered Daisuke which as soon as he said that the department exploded into chaos.

The first division found out a few months later at a gala being hosted by a friend of the Kambe family so of course Daisuke and his family were all invited. The event was also being guarded by the first division so needless to say it was only a matter of time before they found out.

The Kambes had arrived early in the day before the event started, so didn't have to be check by the first division security. Still, Takei along with Ryo and his partner were tasked with interacting with guests, so they had a better chance of catching anyone doing anything illegal. Sure enough, they ended up bumping into Haru much to his annoyance.

"Katou, what the hell are you doing here?" questioned Araki catching the attention of Ryo and Takei who were close by,

"I was invited" Haru replied bluntly as he knew this conversation was about to happen,

"But only business partners and close friends were invited, right Chief" respond Ryo,

"Correct and I don't remember you ever saying that you knew the hosts or the fact that you owned a company" stated his old boss,

"I-" a familiar and cheerfully voice cut off Haru, looking over to the direction of the voice, he saw Elizabeth Rain.

Elizabeth Rain was a cheerful woman who was an expectation in telling how someone was feeling by their body langue, and she had used this talent consistently to get Haru and other people like him out of uncomfortable sudations during galas and other fancy events.

"Kambe, it's a pleasure to see you again," said Elizabeth much to the confusion of Haru's old coworkers,

"Likewise, Elizabeth" respond Haru smirking at bit at his coworker's confusion,

"oh, you're the chief of the first division" exclaimed Elizabeth keeping up her clueless act, "Kambe's old boss",

"Yes, I'm Katou's old boss, and you are?" questioned Takei,

"Elizabeth Rain and Katou?" respond Elizabeth while turned to Haru with a confused face to which Haru reacted with a look that said 'are you kidding me' making Elizabeth click her fingers in realisation, "Oh right I forgot you use your previous last name while at work",

"It's easier to do my job," said Haru while his old co-workers still looked confused which Elizabeth picked up on.

"Speaking of which your husband seemed to be struggling with a few gold diggers, you might want to go save him" replied Elizabeth,

"God damn it not again" muttered Haru before walking over to where Daisuke was,

"Husband?" questioned Ryo in confusion as his old mentor never mention he was married,

"Yeah you know, Kambe Daisuke" answered Elizabeth, she looked at the three officers faces before saying "did he not tell you?"

"No, he didn't" respond Takei,

"Huh, I thought you would know since they work together now," said Elizbeth before she turned away to head over to where her brother was dealing with a rival business executive.

"Welp now you know, anyways enjoy the rest of the gala" she called over her shoulder before leaving the three in confusion and shock on what they had just discovered.   

Author's Note: Hey thought this au was quiet funny to explore since it would be something no one would expect making it all the more funnier.
