Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Cells of Space

Episode 1: The Electrifying Escape!

The sun was shining down on Zapworth City. The pathway was shiny as it had been recently cleaned. The other Pokémon were doing their day-to-day duties, but two were on their way somewhere else...

"Come on, Gary! You don't need this much sleep!"

Brody the Scorbunny was dragging his friend Gary the Sobble down the road.

"Leave me alone and let me catch some Z's... Who cares about being in a Pokémon Rescue Team anyways...?"

Gary would respond, half asleep.

"I do! You said you would come along with me! You know that this is my dream, Gary!"

Brody stopped dragging Gary and helped him up.

"Can you not drag me as hard next time? It hurts... a lot."

Gary replied while scratching his back.

"No need. We're already here!"

Brody pointed up to a huge building with a big badge at the top. The yellow walls had a mural of all the famous Rescue Teams and their members. Gary finally woke up and looked up in awe.

"It's beautiful isn't it?"

Brody would hop in delight and then run off to the entrance.

"W-Wait up, Brody!"

Gary ran after Brody and stopped at the entrance. The doors would open and an Alolan Vulpix would greet them with a snowy smile.

"Welcome to the Zapworth City Pokémon Rescue Team Guild! You must be Brody the Scorbunny and Gary the Sobble! It's so nice to meet you. My name is Ellie. Please come in! Markus, our guildmaster, will see you soon!"

Ellie would allow them to enter and then close the door behind them.

"She seems nice. I'm so excited! This is finally happening! What should our name be? What do you think out first mission will be? Who do you think our other partn-"

Brody got interrupted by Gary.

"Calm down, bud. We'll find out in due time. We just gotta find this 'Markus' guy."

"That's reasonable I guess..."

The duo stopped at a door that had a nameplate with the nameplate "Guildmaster" on it. Someone opened the door and they went inside.

"Oh! You're the new recruits! It's so nice to finally meet you! I'm Markus the Jolteon. Unfortunately, I don't have time to talk right now. There's a Yamper in need of help in the Fluffy Forest and all the other teams are either out on a mission or in a class..."

The Jolteon would pace back and forth in the room but not before Brody piped up.

"We can do it! We're capable! Right, Gary?"

"Huh? Oh... Sure. Yeah. We can take the case."

"That's wonderful! Here. This is your badge, this is your starter kit, and this is your bag. Any questions?"

"I have several questions about this..."

"No worries, sir. We got this! We'll be back in no time at all!"

Markus chuckled to himself and sent the two on their way. There was one problem though. The top Rescue Team, Team X-Speed, had overheard the conversation from across the hall. The members in team X-Speed were Ray the Pansage, Max the Pansear, and Paula the Panpour.

"You heard the boss. Every Pokémon we rescue gives us more points to reach the Platinum Rescue Tier! This'll be easy as Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres!"
