(A/N: hey guys so quick note before this begins: yes I am an outsider (an og one at that) but I'm also an og fan of 2020 boyband who is still yet to be named, so these next four books or so are 2020 boyband fanfics, the first ever! Feels nice to write the first fanfics for this boyband, but OTO will be featured somehow and to some degree in each story! Enjoy xx)
No time skip
Alfie's POV
Today I was going to ask Y/N to go out on a date with me, and I couldn't be more excited to do so. We had been friends for years, but slowly become "more than friends" so to speak over the course of the last month or so, and I liked her a lot, and I was pretty certain she liked me back.
I went to the store and picked up some roses, a card and a little stuffed toy for her, because she finds them to be quite cute. Then, after purchasing the items I returned home and got dressed into a nice suit. I called her and asked her if she wanted to go out with me, and she said yes, which made me very, very happy. From there, I waited about an hour and a half for her to get dressed and ready, and then I grabbed her gifts, drove to her place, and knocked on her door.
She opened it, and I was dumbfounded at her absolutely radiant and stunning appearance. She and I had ended up matching, not even realizing it. I was wearing a navy blue suit, with a light brown belt and matching shoes, and a light blue shirt under the suit accompanied with a dark blue tie.
Y/N was wearing black heels and a navy blue short, simple, but still gorgeous dress. We both laughed at the fact that we unintentionally matched, because the likelihood of that happening isn't very high or much.

I gave her the roses, she smelt them and smiled. "Thank you, Alfie, they smell gorgeous." "Gorgeous, like how you always look." I mumbled and she blushed. I gave her the card and stuffie and she smiled, cuddles the toy for a moment then thanked me again. From there, we headed out on the date.
We got into my black sedan and drove to a local pub for a couple drinks. I got out of the car and opened her door for her, helping her out to be a bit of a gentleman. We walked, hand in hand up to the pub and went inside. Admittedly, it was quite loud and I knew going into this that Y/N didn't like overly loud noises, but I didn't know how loud it'd be. "You alright love?" I asked and she nodded and smiled genuinely. We got a seat for two and ordered. She ordered a white wine, and that sounded good an never really got me too drunk at all, mainly just tipsy if I had three glasses or more, so I knew I'd be fine which was my main concern, because I wanted to be able to enjoy my date with Y/N, get her and I home safely, and protect her if god forbid anything went awry.
We drank our wine and chatted a ton, and then we left, after paying our tab of course. And we then went to Wing Stop for some chicken wings. "How are you enjoying our date so far?" I asked her and she smiled widely. "Alfie, this has been such an amazing date." After we ate wings, I drove her back to her place as we jammed out to OTO and RoadTripTV songs. I walked her to her door and she said goodnight to me, and I said it back. "Goodnight Y/N, I lo- I'll see you soon." I quickly stopped myself from uttering the phrase I was about to say. She smiled and I kissed her quickly on the forehead, hugged her and left. This has been quite a nice date.
