Detective David Dominguez sighs in frustration over the newly reported incidents, now two in total, which seem to be related. At first the Homicide unit concluded that the perpetrator committed second-degree murder until the second murder took place the next day. Elani's case is now open for investigation under David and now he awaits information on Ally, who was the recently murdered. David already has one witness for Elani's murder, Amber, and he knew that it was going to be difficult to interview someone who he works with and knows personally.
Yet David knew Amber could not be the murderer.
"What am I going to do?" he thought to himself in frustration. He knew that if his theory was accurate then that would mean a lot of people could be in danger. It would be a disaster if the press found out. David can only imagine what would happen if this all got out of hand.
After analyzing the crime scene and receiving all the evidence from the forensics unit David could now see that the murders were both on a first-degree murder level.
Which was not good.
He wondered how are they related? Is he wrong about his theory? 'Maybe they aren't related after all' he hoped on the inside but knew that was not the case. You see Elani and Ally's deaths were remarkably similar in detail. Both girls had their teeth shattered. Both of them attended the same college and oddly enough they were in the same chemistry class. They were also brutally raped and murdered with a hammer. And it was all planned.
The Forensic Biology DNA unit made a mistake in the beginning with the DNA found from both of the victims. They believed to have a match from a man in his late 30's but he was found to have been dead for months now. Which means the DNA was contaminated somehow or falsely placed. Or that the unit didn't do their job right. So that evidence is useless now.
The search to find the murderer has just started but unlike most of David's past cases this one is different. Whoever the murderer is this time is smart. Smart enough not to leave any fingerprints. Smart enough not to get caught with DNA. Smart enough to make sure that all of the evidence he left at the scene would be useless to the crime scene investigators, detectives, forensic scientists, and all the other clientele who have authority regarding the incidents that occurred. So David now believes that he has a duplicitous and sinister serial killer on the lose in Manhattan.
Little did everyone know, David was right and things have only just began.
