"Well for what it's worth, you can pack a punch."

I woke up with a headache that was all too familiar and groaned, hiding my face in my pillow.
"Morning, Sugar. How's that hangover treating you?" I heard June's teasing voice and I forced myself to look over at her, squinting at how bright it was in the room.
"It's great actually." I muttered sarcastically as I shoot her a glare. "Glad to see you finding amusement in my pain, though." I forced myself to sit up, running a hand through my hair as I yawn.
"Time to get up! I wanna go out." June stood up from her bed and clapped her hands together. I raised an eyebrow at her, also standing up.
"Wait, what makes you think we're going out? We can't keep being reckless, we could get caught-"
"Come on, Y/n! We're in Tulsa, who would even look for us here?" June complains, grabbing my hand as she tries to use her pout against me.
I swear there's no way she could be older than me.
"It's a risk, June." I pull my hand away from her and cross my arms which makes her huff.
"Oh come on! You know what, fine. You don't have to come with me but either way I'm still going out and you can't stop me." June challenged with a smirk, also crossing her arms now as she looked down at me.
I stared back up at her before closing my eyes, groaning. "I love you, but you can be a real bitch sometimes." I muttered to myself as I walk to my suitcase and open it to grab some clothes so I can can get ready to go out, rolling my eyes when I hear her squeal excitedly.
"Thank you, Y/n! You're the best!" She sings, disappearing into the bathroom to probably put on makeup.
I dug through my suitcase and found a pair of jean shorts and a white tank top, the hot weather getting to me. I propped my sunglasses on my head again
Once I finished getting dressed I knocked on the bathroom door, also needing to get ready in there. June opened the door for me and went back to putting on her makeup, a small smile on her face since she was clearly excited to get out of the motel room again.
I did everything I needed to do to get ready and glanced at June, seeing her applying red lipstick. "Hey, could I borrow your lipstick once you're finished?" I asked and she finished up, smiling.
"Of course." She handed it to me and I applied it as well. Once I finished up I handed it back to her.
"Red is your color." She said with a playful wink and I smile back. I look at her outfit and she's wearing a light pink blouse tucked into a pair of blue jeans.
"And pink is your color." I decided. I had always thought she looked pretty in pink. It fit her well.
"You're too nice." She jokes, grabbing my hand as she leads me out of the bathroom.
June puts on her flats and I put on my converse, grabbing our room key and then shutting the door behind us as I leave.
"Where did you want to go?" I asked June, squinting at how bright it is outside and putting on my sunglasses.
"Well before anything we should go back to the DX to get something to drink." She said as she fanned herself with her hand. I laughed softly and grabbed her wrist to lead her in the direction of the DX, also wanting a drink in this hot weather.
We were walking together and talking, holding hands the whole way despite the heat because it's something we had been used to doing. We didn't care if people thought it was weird because in the end June and I had gone through a lot together and we were practically inseparable. June had always said she did it since she was older than me and felt protective, but we both knew that it was mostly comforting for her since she had told me many times that she felt as if I was the one protecting her most of the time.
"Hey!" I heard somebody shout behind us and I dropped June's hand, turning around to see who it was.
I was met with a girl storming towards me, looking furious with a wild look in her eyes. She was clad in blue jeans, a tight black shirt, and boots. She had dark brown hair and heavy, dark eyeshadow.
Before I could open my mouth to ask her what she wanted, she slammed up against the brick wall. "So it was you who kissed my Dally, huh?" She growled and I raised my eyebrows.
Shit, I did kiss Dallas last night, didn't I? And didn't he mention having a girl at some point?
"About that, I'm really sorry-"
"Shut your trap!" She shouted, gripping me by my tank top with a fiery look in her eyes. It made sense why they were together, they both acted pretty tough.
"Listen, I wasn't thinking straight when I did that, okay? He's all yours, I didn't mean to get between you two." I put my hands up in defense, glad my sunglasses were blocking my eyes because I knew I'd just look annoyed with the whole situation and I didn't need her more upset than she already was.
"Well it's a bit late for that, you tramp!" Suddenly I was met with a swift punch to the face and I felt my head hit the brick wall from the force of her punch, letting out a groan as I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Y/n!" June exclaimed. I opened my eyes to see her getting closer but I shook my head.
"Stay out of it." I told her and she hesitated but stepped back. The last thing I needed was June getting hurt too.
I felt blood dripping from my nose and harshly shoved the girl off of me, wiping the blood with the back of my hand. I was dazed from how hard she had hit me yet I couldn't help but smirk, part of me just wanting to piss her off more.
"Well for what's its worth, you can pack a punch." I muttered, staying leaned against the wall as I cringe from the metallic taste in my mouth from my bleeding nose. "You got me pretty bad."
I wince as she roughly grabs me by my shirt again, trying to prepare myself for another hit.
"Oh yeah? Well I'll get you even worse this time you little-" The girl however was cut short.
"Get your hands off her."
