—TODOROKI—
I woke up to a quiet vibration on my desk, stirring from my tired, dreamless sleep. I pulled my face from the smooth, wooden surface, gently rubbing my sore cheek. I had fallen asleep studying... again. The crash of thunder seemed to fill the room with a slight chill, not that I minded. Another vibration lit up my phone in the inky darkness, and I reached over to check it out. As I swiped open my messages, I noticed the time, frowning. Who the hell is texting me at twelve in the morning?
Midoriya, 12:27 am
Hey Todoroki~Kun
Plz pick upMidoriya...? I thought, a bit surprised as I texted back.
Todoroki, 12:28 am
Hey, what are you doing up so late? Is something wrong?Midoriya, 12:28 am
Not really, it's not seriousTodoroki, 12:28 am
It's serious enough for you to be up at 12 in the morning.Midoriya, 12:29 am
I'm sorry if I woke you upTodoroki, 12:29 am
Midoriya, don't avoid the subject. What's wrong?Midoriya, 12:30 am
It's just... can you come over?Todoroki, 12:30 am
What? Why?Midoriya, 12:30
Just- please?. . .
Todoroki, 12:32 am
Okay, heading over now.I slipped my phone into my pocket, staggering to my feet as my eyes readjusted to the darkness. I opened the door, realizing that Midoriya's dorm was three floors down... I bit back a sigh as I made my way to the stairs. I took a moment to lean against the wall and collect my tired self before starting down the first flight.
I wonder what he wants? Maybe this is a prank, should I even be going at all? No, texting someone to come over at twelve thirty in the morning isn't a prank. Which is why his texts confuse me... he seemed very secretive about why I needed to come over. Maybe it's something he wants to talk to me about? Before I knew it, I had rounded the corner into the second floor hallway. If I remembered correctly, his dorm was second to last among the line of doors.
I walked up to the door, taking a silent breath to clear my head before knocking as quiet as I could. A few moments, later, the door opened.
—MIDORIYA—
I watched rain splatter against the window as I hugged my blanket to my chest, waiting for Todoroki to get here. With each lightning strike, I gripped the blanket tighter, fear and unease knotting my stomach. It was pouring hard outside, I didn't get how anyone could sleep through this storm. I took out my phone again, scrolling through my texts. It had been two minutes since he last replied, but it felt like two hours.
I almost yelped when the knock on my door came, realizing just how jumpy I was. I carried the blanket with me as I walked over to the door, holding it as if it could save me somehow. I opened the door to Todoroki standing there, watching me with his mismatched gaze. I tried to smile as I let him in, hoping he couldn't see the fear in my eyes.
"So, what is this about?" He asked after I closed the door, his intense gaze on me. His eyes seemed to be an odd mixture of calm, stern and confused. I sat down at my desk, sighing as I cuddled the blanket against me. A particularly loud blast of thunder crackled through the air, followed by a bright flash. I cried out before I could stop myself, pushing my roller chair away from the window. Todoroki stared at the window for a moment, I could almost see a trace of shock on his face as he turned to me. The blank shock melted into a knowing half smile as he sat down on my bed. "Afraid of the storm, huh?"
