"you're literally so bad at making food." mark frowned at her words. he looked at her and saw a small smile on her face before squinting his eyes.
"it's the thought that counts."

"pfft." she walked away with the tip of her hand covering her mouth.
"what about you? do you cook?" mark asked as he followed her.

chaesoo confidently nodded and led him to her room. she could see the awkward smile on her mother's face and she couldn't help but feel the second hand embarrassment. it was one of those moments where she needed to save him.

"so what did you need me for?" she turned around and groaned as she wrapped her arms around him.
"you and i both know you can't cook so let's do something else." chaesoo sighed.

mark nodded and scratched the back of his head, feeling a bit flustered.
"wanna go out for a bit then?" he questioned.
"can we go to the building? i wanna show you something." she smiled.

that smile didn't look good to him. she definitely was planning something when she suddenly picked up the violin case.
"you brought your violin?"
"my grandma's but she let me use it."

she extended her hand, waiting for mark to hold it. when he did, she couldn't help but feel her heart beat accelerate.

"mum! mark and i are going!" chaesoo slipped on her sneakers with the support of holding mark's hand.
"wait a minute, you're not going to eat?" her mother came rushing out of the kitchen with wide eyes.
"i would have needed to go back by the time you were finished, sorry for that mrs park." mark bowed but her mother smiled and nodded.

"it's alright. don't come back so late chae!"
"i'm twenty years old mum."
"still, stay safe please." chaesoo raised a thumbs up, not looking back as they left.

she felt the weight of the violin case hanging from her shoulder lift, making it easier for her sore shoulders. yes she had posture and what would she do about it?

nothing. she's too lazy.

"why don't you just hold it? it has a handle and everything." mark sighed.
"because mark, that's too much work." chaesoo replied nonchalantly.
"never seen someone this lazy."

chaesoo set down the case and opened it to get a whiff of wood and grandma. as she turned around to warm up, she discovered that had an audience.

she definitely was even more nervous. her cheeks turned slightly red, seeing most of nct 127. the only members who weren't there were taeil and yuta.

"woah, when did you guys get here?" she chuckled, doing a quick warm up.
"we were going to practise but we found you and mark here." taeyong smiled.

"well in that case," chaesoo turned around and took out her folder which held music sheets.
"i have the perfect song to show you guys." she turned her head around with a smirk.

mark raised his eyebrows, unaware of what she was actually going to do.
"this ones for you mark." that was when he realised. his eyes suddenly grew, remembering what she said on text before.

"wait chae—"

chaesoo hit it off with the song. mark shut his eyes in embarrassment, hearing the tune clearly to whiplash.

despite the song choice, she was incredibly good. everyone in the room was mesmerised by her fluent movements, she was basically one with the violin.

it was not long until haechan started to groove to it, the others joining too. a giggle left her lips as she heard them hyping her up.

mark felt his heart skip a beat.

she bowed as she lowered her violin.
"okay pay up this ain't no free concert." she stretched out her hand, opening and closing it repeatedly.

"she's too good." jungwoo fake cried as his arms surrounded her.
chaesoo felt her soul leave her body. being hugged by the one and only jungwoo was truly god's blessing.

"your turn guys." she spoke, grinning as she continued to hug jungwoo.
