Max
I released a scent of sadness through my round palms, trying to let my parents and friends know that I would miss them a lot. Then, I packed my things and checked on my younger brother Brad and my older sister Jax to make sure they were ready to go and find new scents with our scentship. We boarded the scentship, looking around to discover what the government had put in the ship for our research.
As usual, my room was red, Brad's was blue, and Jax's was yellow. Each room had a password scent that we had to memorise and duplicate to get in. We also had a small controlling pad at the side of our bed and table. The pad let us choose the material that our room would turn into. It also allowed us to communicate with the other people in the rooms, and even an app that let us play a game called Scentory.
Scentory was a very famous game in our world where we would smell different scents and try to memorise them and put them in pairs. Once, I got into a school competition for the scentory competition, but I ended up in just 10th out of 13 people. I kept the trophy in a secret chest I hid from my family and lost it when we moved over to the scentship.
I quickly changed my material in my room to glass and leaned towards the window. I tried to remember what my home looked like one last time before I would go home in an unknown quantity of time. Just as we were about to take off, I smelled fear coming from one of the 2 rooms next to me. Brad had found a fake cockroach that Jax had intentionally left for him to prank him.
When my parents found out what happened, they were furious at Jax for doing such a thing with her younger brother right before they left him in her care. They left a very strong smell of anger and stormed away. Brad, however, was very scared and hid in a corner in his room. I tried to help him and released a scent from my palm to try to comfort him. He suddenly jolted up and ran to my room and decided to stay in my room, where Jax would never go to because she hated the smells that were in my room.
For at least an hour, I heard sniffles and some sobbing noises from Brad, who was beginning to settle down and calm down. He was lying down on his belly and playing a match of scentory with me. We decided to give the winner a special prize: an origami trophy that my mother had made to replace the one that I lost while we moved to this gigantic spaceship. At the end of the game, I lost by one tile. I unwillingly handed over the origami trophy and collapsed on my bed. Brad started to follow me and decided to go back to his room.
JAX
This morning, I was still sleeping when I heard my annoying brother Max bang on the door countless times. He was screaming "WAKE UP! ITS TIME TO GO ON THE SHIP!". Max usually would be very quiet and not mind my business, but I guess he did the opposite on mission days. I woke up, grabbed my luggage, fell over, and grabbed my second luggage, and got into the bus that would take us to our scentship.
Our dog Adrian jumped on me and stayed on my luggage, panting and licking the bags. I shrivelled away in disgust as I hated dog slobber. I wiped the dog slobber off my baggage. I knew Brad had given the dog to me when I was sleeping. To get some revenge on him,Secretly, I took a toy cockroach out of my pockets and slid it in Brad's bag.
I peeked at the bus door, and my parents and Brad were coming on the bus. Adrian was still panting, so I decided to put him in his little comfy dog cage. '' So much slobber is only my bags now ...'' As I struggled to keep myself awake, Adrian started barking. He was such a handful at times, but sometimes he would be a perfect, playful and obedient dog. Sometimes I wish I had a magical scent that would make him be the dog I wanted him to be.
I suddenly jerked away, only to see Brad blowing air into my ear. I recoiled and activated the shield, knocking him back into his spot. I liked this type of technology for the advantages it would bring. I finally was able to sleep for around an hour before we were at the scentship. When we got there, I released a scent of farewells, and I left my mom a transmitting device that we could talk to with her.
I brought Adrian into Max's room and set him free. Before he could jump and attack me with more slobber, I slipped into my room and slammed to door right before Adrian found his way into my room. All of a sudden, I smelled humongous amounts of fear coming right from Brad's room. Almost immediately, I knew that Brad must have found the rubber cockroach. When I came over to Brad's room, I saw that the cockroach had my name tag on it. Whoops.
After what seemed to be hours and hours of smelling angry scent from our parents, I finally was able to go into my room after a scent apology. I heard sniffles and still had the fragrance of sadness in my nose. Rummaging through my belongings, I started to sort through the messy baggage and stacked all the things on the shelves on the left of the room.
Once I finally finished the hour-long task, I found a secret panel on the wall. I tried tinkering with it, and suddenly, I was standing on glass. At this point, the ship had taken off, so this took me by surprise, I thought that I was going to fall back into the Earth, but Max noticed this and told me how it worked. For some reason, we were able to change what material the room was made of, and Brad had the same reaction to the glass set.
BRAD
When I woke up, I was on the bus already, not knowing what had happened for the past 2 hours. My parents had already packed up my luggage, and I was in a seat with my luggage. I was told that we would be going on another expedition to find new scents. This time, we would be going just by the 4 of us, Adrian, Myself, Max, and Jax.
When I saw Jax nodding off, I jumped out of my seat and started blowing air into her ear to annoy her. She pressed a button next to her, and I was knocked back into my seat. Because Jax had finally made the discovery of the "force field", I was in bad luck. Very bad luck.
I activated the shield and nodded off, exactly 30 minutes before we arrived at the scentship's location. I saw Jax hand our parents a transmitter that worked for at least 4 years straight. I hugged and released a scent of goodbyes to my parents and boarded the plane.
The first thing I did when I boarded the plane was to tinker around with the controls in my room. I noticed that it had controls like Music Games Scenery but I also saw a series of yellow buttons that said "Metal, Glass, Grass, Clouds, Paper, Plastic and Water ". When I made up my mind to try glass, my entire room was instantly rebuilt out of glass. I ran back all the way to Max's room, and told him my room had malfunctioned.
When he finally connected all the dots, he laughed at me and told me what had actually happened. For some reason, the control allowed my room to be rebuilt instantly and into the material that I chose. I ended up spending the rest of the day tinkering around my room and repeatedly pressing the buttons, but always avoiding glass.
All of a sudden, a cockroach appeared. I shrieked and fell down. I hated cockroaches, only to notice this one was fake, and from Jax. Oh how I hated her. When I told my parents, they were beyond furious at Jax.
