Last Semester of Senior High
"Hindi mo ba gustong sumama sa school ko?" tanong ni Mimay
"You know I can't, you know that I have to excel in academics so I can get to John's Hopkins" napabuntong hininga na lang ako ng makita kong sumimangot si Mimay
"Okay then pero. . ." she trailed "Yana, pwede bang magshare na lang tayo ng apartment. Please?" tiningnan ko lang si Mimay, alam ko namang hindi siya papayagan ng Daddy niya na mag-aral sa Manila dahil according to tito, she's a wild child. I don't even know why we're friends in the first place. Our personalities are so contradicting.
"Ano pa nga ba? Matitiis ba kita?" tanong ko sakanya.
Mimay just hugged me tightly. Ever since we were in second grade we were friends. I can never say no to her.
"I can feel that we'll have a good freshman year"
"Yeah, I can feel na sasakit rin ang ulo ko" I said , mocking her.
"Of course I wouldn't party that hard and I plan to give you the best of college"
Napatingin ako sakanya, " You're not planning to drag me around in your parties right?" tanong ko sakanya
"Of course I wouldn't do that to you" Nahintatakutan ako ng para bang wala lang sakanya ang sinabi niya.
Freshman Year ( First Semester)
Whenever I'm reminiscing that conversation I'll find myself inside our apartment surrounded with a lot of people gyrating to each other. Another afterparty of Mimay. Napabuntong hininga na lang ako I have to review for my Medical Terminologies and yet here I am, my left hand sporting a red cup filled with Mimay's forbidden concoction.
Simula ng pumasok kami sa college she began her mission of partying all night. At first, it wasn't that bad, until she dragged me around going to parties with disgusting men and their lame ass pick up lines. Of course I normally wouldn't think about going but when Mimay came home drunk I made a vow to myself that I'll drive her whenever she attends a party. Didn't know na gabi-gabi pala. That's why I presented the idea of her bringing the party home. I didn't realize that it was also a bad idea.
"Another round of beer!" I heard Mimay shout and after that the already ear splitting music they have grew even louder. Puro naman trap music, not that I'm judging but I'm sure there are tons of other music to choose from.
I rolled my eyes and stood up, better study at the cafe shop near our apartment. The apartment is a labyrinth of bodies. The smell is a mix of perfumes and alcohol and the mood is set with dry ice. While I was busy trying to wriggle my way out of the sweaty and smelly bodies in the living room I felt arms around my hips and a crotch grinding on my backside.
I whispered a little prayer and turned my head. His shoulder length hair is a mess and his breath smells of mint and alcohol. I couldn't see his face clearly because of the lights. Must be some of Mimay's new set of party friend. Since, everyone who frequents Mimay's parties in the apartment knows me or at least the idea of me. But, this guy touched me and violated me as a woman wala na akong pakialam kung sino pa siya.
"Mind dancing with me?" he asked, unbothered by the fact that I'm already killing him by my icy cold stare.
The nerve of this guy!
"Yes, yes I do mind" I threw him a sharp look. Now let me go before I hurt you.
"Playing hard to get huh?" I gasp, he just arched a brow in response to my disbelief.
Aba! Sumusobra na ang damuhong to! You're gonna get it.
